Wright didn’t sign. 20 did. Story posted on the class of 20
Zumwalt had a buddy who had been diagnosed with a terminal disease early in his high school career. He not only beat it, he was on the football team with Zumwalt his senior year. I had read that he was walking on at UCLA and Zumwalt wanted to be on his team.
Also I saw where Wright got a late offer from TCU. He might be another flip.

Also of note in the gostanford story
Quote:The Cardinal also welcomes defensive back Scotty Edwards who is returning from a two-year LDS mission to Johannesburg, South Africa after signing with Stanford as part of the Class of 2020 out of Holladay City, Utah.

Maybe Ramsay liked the scenery better in Westwood than at the Farm. UCLA has a long tradition of using super hot hostesses for orientation of recruits.
Quote:Host programs are a logistical necessity for football programs, said Todd Crosset, associate professor of sports management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. They’re the equivalent of tour guides for athletes, and for a football team that’s recruiting dozens of students during a time when coaches are busy, hosts play an important role. In a way, the use of attractive women to recruit football players is byproduct of the college athletics system, Crosset said. The NCAA rules limit what universities can do to charm athletes. “The one thing universities can offer is attractive classmates, and the idea that you’re going to be high status, so that’s what they’ve been selling,” he said.

Any insight into Collin Wright's status? he received a TCU offer last week (so he may falling under Sonny's charms and the prospect of staying in his home state) but hasn't signed anywhere yet as far as I can tell.

My son was recruited by the University of Florida. We went down there and his hostess was nice enough, but she was no looker. I guess he wasn't high enough priority.

Back in the day we recruited a player from Hawaii and IIRC Logan Tom of WVB was his “hostess/guide.” IIRC he committed, — sorry, can’t recall his name off the top of my head.

Wow! He has some great video from Harvard Westlake. I'm surprised he's not a 4 star. Great yardage after catches and can catch the jump ball fade. They threw him the bubble screen repeatedly for big plays.

Stanford has had good luck with PWOs at WR. Griff Whalen, Ryan Whalen, and Brycen Tremayne come to mind, but I know there are more. It’s interesting to me that Thompson reports offers from the Arizona schools, but apparently couldn’t get an offer from the P5 academic private schools (Duke, Vandy, NW). He might have preferred to attend there for free. Or maybe he qualifies for a lot financial aid at Stanford? Whatever the back story, he seems like a nice addition to the class.

The official national signing day for next year's incoming class is Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
