is azzi interested in stanford?
She is literally named after Jennifer Azzi. So of course she and her parents are well aware of Stanford. I hope that translates into a real shot at signing her when the time comes.

Wasn’t Candice Wiggins in the same class as Ros? I was excited enough to go watch what I believe was their first “home” games, at Santa Clara. That season Stanford played some home games at Leavey due to remodeling construction being done in Maples.

It’s the year after Candice but close enough

One time possible recruit Osborne committed to UCLA yesterday. We wait for Haley Jones to decide for our final recruit for the 2019 class. She will be visiting UConn and ND soon.

And that may be an understatement. Do we have any idea what the top criteria will be in her decision?

ESPN Hoopgurlz just updated their rankings and Haley Jones is their new #1 recruit.
Our committed recruits also climbed up the rankings:
- Ashten Prechtel is #16 (from #25)
- Francesca Belibi is #23 (from #33)
- Hannah Jump is #50 (from #57)
They are now all 5-star recruits as well
If we could get Jones, then that would be a tremendous coup for us.

Tremendous coup right now.
Thanks for posting the rankings. 2021 #9 Demetre plays travel with Jump and I watched them 3 times this summer. Demetre is awesome

Let's hope for an early snowstorm in Storrs, so that Jones can have the same experience that Chiney had on her visit :)

Or that Jayne had. Except without her father actually breaking his ankle slipping on ice.

That's a very tough final 5. It will be a major blow if she picks somewhere else, especially since she was already admitted to Stanford.

So her finalists are Stanford, UConn, Notre Dame, Oregon, and South Carolina. Quite a list. A couple more visits and a couple more months and we will know...

Interesting that the ducks also made the final 5 cut. Telling who recruits think are the major programs over the next few years...

I have no particular reason to believe this about Haley, but sometimes I wonder if these kids have their minds made up long before they actually publicly announce their decisions. Some may enjoy the visits, meeting the coaches and players at various schools, etc. Being recruited may be fun for certain kids so why not play it out and enjoy the attention?
On the other hand, I know I would want to make a decision of that importance early enough to think about it for a long time before reaching the point of no return. Hard to imagine a kid visiting a school and then making the 40 year decision within a week or two after.
