Excellent story on the team.  Click on the WVB figures

Renting  a house on San Diego.  Very neat

Hopefully it's not one of those party houses in Pacific Beach -- SDSU kids rent them all the time and SDSU has had >700 Covid cases since March.

"As a freshman, Kipp played behind star outside hitter Kathryn Plummer and is now switching positions to opposite hitter"

I didn't know she moved to OPP.  I guess Hambly felt her passing wasn't where it needed to be.  It looks like Fidelak is going to be a four year bench warmer. So at OH it is McClure and TBD, (Caitie Baird?).

"During fall quarter, the team will rent a house in San Diego, where they will continue training and practicing together."

Why in San Diego?  Stanford has a practice gym made specifically for volleyball.  It has automatic nets and cameras placed where Dunning wanted them for volleyball.

Is the Stanford weight room too crowded?

RE: Recruiting:Women’s Volleyball - BobK - 09-19-2020

Kipp has been right side since January. McClure and yes probably Baird on the left.  Of course early this year in practice Fidalak was the setter.

Next year Kipp to the left.  Fidalak and Francis on the right.

Yes I listened to both Hambly podcasts :)

Remember until this weekend you couldn’t really practice volleyball in Santa Clara county. Only two players could touch the ball. A number of Stanford distance runners are renting a house in Utah.

Of course San Diego is on course to head to where Santa Clara is right now.

Baird red-shirted last year.  This coming spring season doesn't count against eligibility.  So in fall 2021 Baird will be starting her third season and could technically be listed as a freshman.

Will WVB players have to start paying for house rent?  I do have sympathy for the attitude athletes should not be given Covid-19 preferential treatment over other students.

A full scholarship provides room and board. I’m sure the Stanford AD did consider everything

Vicini now listed on the roster as a redshirt. As she should be

RE: Recruiting:Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 10-01-2020

Vicini played in seven sets in 2019.  She was approved for a medical redshirt for 2019.  What was her injury and is she 100% now.  Does Vicini have any chance of making the starting lineup for spring 2020?

I saw Texas, Baylor, and Pitt play on TV, all three projected top 10 teams.   They didn't impress me.  Based on the amount of talent I think Stanford has as good of a chance at making the final four as those three teams, although I admit I haven't seen the current Stanford team play together yet.

I was looking at some old comments on Stanford Scout. Someone posted Stanford recruited a 2022 setter which makes no sense to me. Stanford will have the two best setters in the country. Why would Hambly recruit a third setter and why in the world would a setter want to come to Stanford in 2022; the timing is not right.

RE: Recruiting:Women’s Volleyball - BobK - 10-01-2020

There are no top 50 2022s who are setters who are not committed, all are. So my guess is not a true statement on VT
Or it’s Millie Muir who is committed to Dookie

On Vicini I was just talking to another season ticket holder and couldn’t recall foot or ankle but she wore a boot for 2? Months last season. Sadly a recent photo also a boot

At a chalk talk last season Hambly said she was redshirting and praised her blocking
