A 20-3 halftime lead is much better than I expected!
But there's a long way to go yet. Stanford needs to keep it up.

You see blue, you see gold.
What do you see?
You see teams losing football games to me and the men from my university.
Based on the first half against UCLA I can't help but wonder what would have happened if UW beat Oregon and then stopped playing. :(
That transitive property stuff doesn't really hold, but still hard to avoid the hypothetical dream.

The announcer said this was UCLA's bowl game, but that was clearly last week.
Shocked at the lack of intensity from the Bruins (apart from DTR) compared to Stanford.
That said, maybe DTR will say or do something to get his guys to play with some fire. Definitely not over yet.

Raise your hand if you expected Stanford to be up 20-3 at the half, outgaining UCLA 265 to 161, and yet UCLA won the time of possession 16 - 13 minutes.
DTR is in street clothes. Tough break.

Of course, UCLA might be able to consistently score without passing. Our run defense is... porous.

Our defense in general is terrible. We are 118th out of 130 FBS teams in opponents' yards per play (before tonight). And we appear to be regressing to our mean in the second half.
I'm really impressed with the progress they've made in the face of adversity. This team has been improving on both sides of the ball, particularly on offense and on the OL. But no position group on defense could be called "above average".

Simply must move the ball and keep the defense off the field. If we can't do that, we won't win. It is going to take another TD at least, and probably two. We are simply not stopping the run at all right now. The pass offense for UCLA is just a bonus for them.

Why take the ball out from 2 yards deep in the end zone. I know it is fun to think of a big return, but better off just take the 25 yard line.
