Brrr! Was at the game. Just a handful of brave souls out there to cheer on the teams, but it seemed like close to half were there for Stanford. Besides the temp in the upper 30s, there was also a steady breeze coming in from the outfield, which was almost impossible to escape. Supposed to rain (light) tomorrow, with the temp just above 40. I probably won’t make up my mind about attending until game time.
Re the game, good to see the swagger in the offense. We had a few more shots that came up just short of the wall. Probably would have scored more with warmer weather and no breeze from the outfield. We also got some sterling defensive play from Tommy Troy, including a spectacular diving catch to end the inning with a runner on third (and silence some rowdy Cajun fans).

Nice win, but Saturday's game vs Arkansas is the highlight of the tournament. d1baseball.com has Arkansas #2 and Stanford #6. This will be a great early-season test for both teams.

WTAF? Game postponed/canceled due to “poor conditions on the field?” Anyone know what that means?

If it is cold and wind, I will just say you would not believe what baseball (and softball) players up here in the NAIA North Star Athletic Association play in. The men (and women) up here are tough!
Also, you don't even want to guess what little difference pitch count makes up here. We don't send (m)any to pro ball, so college ball is the end point for the vast majority (if not all) of our players. Once the conference tournament starts, there are kids that throw day after (very long) day.

Just a light drizzle right now, but it’s expected to be continuous. Temp probably won’t get above 40. Lot more fans, mostly from Arkansas, showed up. They were all turned away.

TYVM. Drizzle? Never thought I’d call Texans wusses, but here we are.

Stanford will play a doubleheader tomorrow starting with Indiana at 11, then Arkansas at 3. Advantage: Arkansas. Maybe. But it is what it is.

Stanford is up 10-0 bottom of the 6th
13-0. Need a mercy rule

Vulgar display of rage in Round Rock. I thought perhaps Indiana would be out seeking revenge for 2014, but it appears the baseball team has internalized the frustrations produced by the MBB team and is taking it out on the Hoosiers.

Will the baseball team outscored the MBB team?

That upset of Indiana in 2014 feels like just yesterday. Tommy Edmand 1st pitch homerun blast over the right field wall is forever imprinted in my memory as well as Indiana’s outfielder hanging on the fence and heartbreak.

Because of three games today, a mercy rule was established. Any team leading by >= 10 runs after 7 is declared the winner. 6.5 innings because Stanford was the home team. Interesting that this does not affect starting times for the other 2 games. Flobaseball has something else to do?
BTW, any class action lawyers out there? Flobaseball signal was out 50 minutes in the Friday game. Another long outage today. I believe it was 2020 when wbb went to the Bahamas. Flo dropped one entire quarter of that game.

Reminder that the seniors on this year’s club were in middle school when this happened.

Might want to tune in to the Arkansas game. Matthews has struck out 5 through 2 innings. Barrera HR has good guys up 2-0.

As Stanford's athletic department is completely asleep at the wheel, the only way I've found to access the game via radio is from the Arkansas side:

Yep. Paid my $30 ransom to Flotv.
Two Stanford batters hbp. Huff in the left hand, Bowser just took one below the flap on his helmet. Should at least be a warning from the umpire. Long visit to the Arkansas dugout.
