I can't believe they both didn't get tossed. Cam shouldn't have thrown the ball at her. And besides grabbing her face and not letting go, she shoved Lexie a few times in there.

I agree with Tara's halftime take that the refs handled it well. Hollingshed could easily have been ejected. Cam had to get called for retaliation, but what she did there was much less. However, I was totally fine with calling the same thing on both and letting the teams play on.

After 3 quarters Stanford is shooting 51.4/60/100! Six for ten from 3 and 9-9 from the charity stripe.

We win 71-46. We ended up shooting 48.2/53.8/90.9. CO has one of the toughest defenses in the Pac-12, so I'm not worried about our ability to score in the post season.

Brink ended up 1 rebound away from a double-double.

Hollingshed should have been ejected. Brink should not have retaliated and so deserved something more than a regular foul. Hollingshed's foul was the equivalent of a face mask penalty in which the perpetrator hangs on for five seconds and twirls his victim.

We hit 54% of our treys and broke 70 points for the first time in a while. Amazing what three point shooting will do for us.

Wilson's offense has been coming on strong. Hope she can keep it up all the way to a natty. If she does we will have finally solved the gap left by Williams--she and the improvement of so many others.

And of course it is great to see the stars shine--Brink and Jones doing what Brink and Jones are supposed to do. However, Brink had 4 fouls and Jones 5 turnovers, but they did not seem to affect the flow of the game that much--probably because Colorado had 22 turnovers of its own. How about Brink with 4 steals!

Was very good to see Prechtel knock down two treys. She has been off with that shot for a while and it is wonderful to see her coming back on.

Relieved to get out of that game without an injury on our team, although Colorado was not so fortunate.

I think Hollingshed should have been tossed. Pushing someone hard in the face and keep pushing even when the player is trying to back away? Come on. Brink should not have thrown the ball, and deserved a T for that but Hollingshed should have been gone. CO coach should not allow that sort of thing. She encourages her players to play rough. Not a fan. Hollingshed has been doing that crap her whole career. She threw elbows at Lexie in the last game at Maples, no calls, nothing. I think if Brink had not retaliated, maybe they toss Hollingshed.

At any rate, we handled the game well. Wilson has been fabulous in this tournament. Brink was great. Jones played well aside from a couple of TOs. Both Hulls did as usual, which we take for granted. Defense was very good. Missy decided that suddenly everything was a foul on us for a while but we still chugged along. Nice to see Emma-Nnopu get some time playing tough defense. Loved to see Bosgana get that steal and bucket.

I am rooting for Utah just because I like both their top frosh, fun to watch, but I think probably Oregon wins.

My favorite play of the game was Anna rushing back on defense to interfere with Quay Miller's shot. Great hustle, and it saved us 2 points when the game was not decided yet.

No, missed that, but that is a bad example for her players. I hate the way CO plays. They are injuries waiting to happen for the opponent and for themselves.

Payne is a pain, and that's how I'm spelling her name from now on. I m in the Hollinshed should have been ejected camp. Not only was she showing Cam in the face, and not gently, she also had a hand on Cam's throat in the midst of it, all from the slow-video I saw of the events. But yes, Cam should not have thrown the ball, even if it's understandable.

here is a discussion by officials on intentional and disqualifying fouls (the terms used in women's NCAA rather than flagrant 1 & 2). hollingshed's seems clearly excessive, dangerous, and instigating - therefore disqualifying. unfortunately, cam's, though mild and in retaliation, would seem to be fighting, which is also disqualifying. check the video starting around 3:40 for an example of excessive followed by retaliation; both players are disqualified.

that said, i like that missy & co. let them both stay in the game.

I liked Tara's response in the halftime interview. At that point there is nothing to be gained by complaining it should have been a flagrant foul although in my mind it was flagrant. Tara showed her class by the way she handled it.

Hollingshed lost her composure for a few seconds which I understand and can forgive. I can not understand the refs not calling more than a regular foul.

it was called more than a common foul. it was called an intentional, which is (i learn something new every day!) apparently the women's NCAA bb term for a flagrant 1.

so was cam's.

the call was "offsetting intentional fouls."

I don't think Cam violated rule 10-15.2, which defines fighting as striking with a "fist, hand, arm, foot, knee, or leg." However, she surely could have been called for T foul for throwing the ball in retaliation. OTOH, Hollingshed clearly violated the rule.

Which is a bs call. Hollingshead was clearly the instigator. She should have been tossed. But she did light a spark under the team. Thank you, Ms. Hollingshead.

Agree with everything except the part about Cam. When you’re being mugged, self-defense is always warranted.
