My random upsets bracket is doing better than my more serious bracket. I correctly picked Gonzaga in my main bracket, while I correctly picked South Dakota and FGCU instead in the random upsets bracket.
Unfortunately I also incorrectly picked South Florida to upset and Colorado to hold seed in both.

Kansas vs GA Tech is a tossup at halftime. Kansas went up 10-0 to start, GA Tech came back to lead by at least 10, and Kansas came back to go up 3.
If you put together a team of GA Tech bigs and Kansas guards, you'd have something.

Kansas blowout in the 2nd half; they win 77-58.
Watch out for their guards #13 and #10. Their only good big seems to be #1. Their other big #14 is a bit awkward.

That's two Pac-12 down. Now I really have to root for Ariz and Oregon. I wasn't all that surprised about WSU, but I had thought that Colorado was likely to win. Much as I dislike their style of play, I was rooting for them as a rep of the Pac-12.

Both CO and WSU were whistled for a lot of fouls in their games. This might portend that the refs in the tourney are calling things tighter than we saw in the Pac-12. Both the Buffs and the Cougs like to play physical. This might help us if we play Texas and/or Maryland.

I'm watching a lot of the games on TV. ESPN at last is taking the women's tournament seriously, great to have every game broadcast in full. And there's that "March Madness" decal on the playing floors (though not nearly as much decoration on the floors as in the men's games). But question -- have I missed it, or is there no decal on the Maples floor? I didn't see it last night.

Yes, it was there . . . but virtually. It is superimposed on the court by the magic of TV.

I don't think that's traditionally been the case. In the Kansas/GT game, they pretty much let everything go, but were quick to blow the whistle on blocks, clean or not.

NC State up over Longwood 19-15 at end of 1st quarter. I don't expect NC State to lose, or even that this will be a close game by the time it's done, but Longwood is certainly doing better than Kansas did against Stanford last night -- or the #16 in either of the other two games with #1 ones yesterday. And oh yes, #2 UConn is demolishing #15 Mercer.
But a potential upset looming, #11 Villanova 55, #6 BYU 50 with 4 1/2 minutes to go.
#11 Villanova takes down #6 BYU 61-57. Missy was a ref in this game.

UConn records the third shutout of an opponent for an entire quarter, against Mercer. They dominate 83-38, shutting Mercer out 20-0 in the third quarter. Unusually balanced scoring for the Huskies, with 4 in double digits, and two more with 9 points.

Kentucky's Rhyne Howard is out with an injury against Princeton. Being evaluated in the locker room. That would really hurt KY's chances in this tourney. Princeton leads 14-11 in the 2nd Q.

#11 Princeton is going to beat #6 Kentucky. Kentucky beat SC in the SEC championship game.
