Thanks for the videos akiddoc
I didn’t realize yesterday but the men 4x100 relay team ran the 2nd fastest ever at Stanford 39.68 just missing the school record. The school record was the world record at the time.

Well, that 1965 record of 39.64 has a "c" next to it. Which generally means "converted." Maybe it was 4 x 110 yards? Also, I'm guessing it was hand timed. So I would give the nod to yesterday's team as far as the record is concerned.
That was not the world record Bob. It was 39.06 at the time, held by the USA Olympic team from the 1964 Olympics.
Leo Young ran a 3:39 1500m this weekend. That's about a 3:56.5 mile.

Yes it was the world record. For yards. I was there. Fresno Relays. The Olympics were meters. I’ll never forget.
The “c” converted from yards to meters

Stanford lost the Big Meet in men's and women's scoring. They didn't really take it very seriously though, with the women's DMR at the Penn Relays taking Whittaker out of the meet and Udodi competing only in the 4 x 100. Maya Valmon continues to improve rapidly, going 52.07. That broke the Stanford record set in 2006 by a significant amount. But it is only #25 in the NCAA this year. Let's hope she can get in the 51 second range and make the NCAA meet. Her best in high school was over 55 seconds. Pretty good work in college for her and the coaches.

Udodi Onwuzurike wins the 200m in 19.91. 2nd fastest time in NCAA this year. PAC-12 (then PAC-10) Championship meet record breaking Ato Boldon’s record of 20.00 from 1996.

Whittaker first in the 800. Willis ran the 1500 instead and did not run well. I think the coaches were trying to get her qualified for the 1500 in the regionals. Not her distance.

Alyssa Jones. Didn't see her glancing through the second flight. Wind was over 2 meters.
