UA probably not thrilled with that seed. Lots of P-12 teams in the eastern regions, though some do host. UNLV underseeded?
VA Tech is a #1 seed, which is a surprise based on NET. I think that means we are a #2 seed.

Dang! Yukon took the 2 seed I wanted with VTech and Ohio State.

VT’s #2 seed is UCONN which means we are likely #2 in Iowa’s region. Or vice versa (but probably not).

It will be Stanford and Iowa in some order in the last Bracket. Does it matter which way?

It also means we would meet SCar in the FF if we make it there.

I think that depends on the rest of the teams in the bracket, since we definitely can’t take it for granted that we will even make it to the E8 to play Iowa.

One as in 1

Stanford is #1!
Iowa is likely pissed.

Gonzaga? Why? Give us something new, not a team we play every year. Dang.

Don't like playing Gonzaga near their home.

We play them at Maples if they win a game, don't we?
We play Friday/ Sunday, which I like much better than Sat/Mon

Ahhh, yes! Forgot it's the two games at home before going to Washington State.

I would have rather had the #2 seed that instead went to UConn.
But, we got this. Go Stanford! Tough bracket but it is what it is. It is the tourney..nothing is easy at this point.

Yeah, committee helping Yukon continue their FF streak.

Do I have this right?
If seeds hold, and if we win out, we would play:
1) A play-in between Southern and Sacred Heart
2) Ole Miss (or Gonzaga in the 8/9)
3) Sweet 16 Texas
4) Elite 8 Iowa
5) Final Four South Carolina
6) Championship Indiana/Virginia Tech

Tough draw indeed. I feel like we play the same damn teams every year.

I listed the full list of top 4 seeds and Pac-12 teams in each region on a previous page for those who are interested.
It will be fascinating to see what Tara comes up with if we get to the Elite 8 and face Iowa. I think the Hawkeyes are the best offensive team in the country. Caitlin Clark can only be contained and let's not forget about the rest of their lineup. Czanino hits an insane 67% of her shots from the floor and their three other starters are just under 40% from long-range so Tara's normal scouting defense leaving one player unguarded to focus on a team's best player would not work.
First up though, I am fascinated to see a potential Sweet 16 (if Colorado upsets Duke in the second round) between Colorado and Iowa and see how Colorado's aggressive defense handles Iowa's high-octane offense.

That is correct 81alum. That's a tough road. Even against Gonzaga, who has played us tough and are very familiar with us, I could see the potential in us losing. I am not saying we will, but given our recent state of play, it would not be totally unexpected.

I'm rooting for Colorado to make it to Elite 8 against Stanford. We can match them defensively. It will be hard for Stanford to match Iowa's offense especially if Hannah Jump is contained. First thing first, 1st and 2nd round.
