Zoe pitched four innings today and gave up two earned runs against Notre Dame. ND up 7-3 in the top of the seventh inning.

Lost 7-4 to lose the series 2-1. Coming into this series ND was 11-14, so the Cardinal are going to have to regroup before they travel to UNC, who just took 2 out of 3 from Cal and are 21-4 so far this season.

Stanford softball has been evocative of Stanford baseball recently and that is not a good thing. Defensive lapses, struggling pitching. Not a good time to face 7 consecutive games in North Carolina - 3 vs the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, one at East Carolina, then 3 more in Durham vs. Duke. Will the team just stay over and be on a 10 day-long road trip?
After the games vs. Duke, Stanford won't leave the state of California for the rest of the regular season.

Next week is spring break, so the softball players won't be missing classes if they decide to stay in NC for the duration of the road trip.

4 pitchers used. Krause, the starter gave up 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning. North Carolina used 6 pitchers in 7 innings.

What a beautiful three game sweep. Stanford hitting has become pretty solid. Pitching is an unknown quantity for me moving forward.

I was hoping it was an early April Fool's joke, but apparently Stanford softball really just blew a 14-8 lead going into the bottom of the seventh versus Duke.
The carnage:
Lead off HR, 14-9

BB
E6, 14-10
K, 1 out

Grand slam HR 14-14
1B
BB
Walk off HR, 14-17
That's 9 runs, 8 earned on 5 hits (3 HRs), 2 BBs, 1 HBP and 1 error.
Stanford loses the series 1-2 although they finished the road trip 5-2.
