Sark's baseball cap makes him look like a punk.

Don't want to jinx anything but... I feel like things are setting up pretty well for us.

(Aside from injuries.)

I think we can score on Oregon.  ::)

I wonder if they meant to say "most points allowed since 2003"; they lost twice in 2013, but the scores were 26-20 (to us) and 42-16 (to Arizona).

No, I think it was a called fake with a bad snap.

I wonder as well.  In 1985 they lost to Nebraska 63-0, and that was the last instance I could find of anyone even hanging 60 on them.

At this rate, predicting a Stanford win will be considered woofing.  Jeebus.  ???

Re: Week 4 in opponents - socalstanfan1 - 09-26-2015

What do we know after this week? UCLA seems pretty good, or maybe Arizona's defense is really, really bad.  (Given that BYU got throttled by Michigan, the latter may be the case);

VSC really is pretty good, given how they blew out ASU.  Which makes our victory over them look even better.

Utah is the real deal, and Oregon has a piss poor excuse for a defense.

Without saying too much and getting accused of woofing, I will say that for all our issues with DL depth, our defense looks pretty solid compared to some of the other contenders for the Pac-12.

I think the bad snap was real. Nobody one-hands it if he doesn't have to. I also think the punter's Aussie football instincts kicked in and he went with it.

Now, the fake kickoff return, that was a thing of beauty.

Turns out it was the most points scored against Oregon since 1985.

Re: Week 4 in opponents - pcgoode - 09-27-2015

UCLA beat up on Arizona, but the Wildcats rushed for 353 yards on the ground. Turnovers killed Arizona in this one, and it didn't help that Anu Solomon got knocked out of the game in Q2. UCLA is definitely beatable, especially since we get them at home this year.

I wonder if we prepare for an Arizona with or without Solomon.

Everyone else seems to agree with you.  I'm probably wrong.

Re: Week 4 in opponents - pcgoode - 09-27-2015

Solomon's injury appears to be a concussion. I don't wish serious injuries on anyone, but concussions are something on another level. Hope he has a full recovery.

4 weeks into the season and some of the Ca'l faithful are placing Goff ahead of Rodgers on the all-time Bea'r player list and want to give Dykes a lifetime contract. Will they ever learn?

Re: Week 4 in opponents - yvonne - 09-27-2015

Yeah, they should be more like us. We want to fire our coach after four straight bowls and the only back-to-back Rose Bowl appearances in more than 40 years.

Re: Week 4 in opponents - FarmBoy - 09-27-2015

Did anyone actually propose firing Shaw? Yikes.
