Robbie Robinson has committed to ASU.

Re: Class of 2016 - Rally - 07-26-2015

My granddaughter, classmate of his at Santa Margarita, just emailed me this,

"dylan Crawford (football WR) just tweeted saying "Stanford might be the move"

Probably, but I don't question my granddaughter.  I need her to fix my computer.  And TV.

Re: Class of 2016 - PrinceLightfoot - 07-28-2015

David Long plans on making a commitment announcement in two or three weeks per a USC Rivals article. Coincidentally, Treyjohn Butler is looking to make his commitment on August 14th. Given twitter tea leaves, I would say both are Stanford bound.

Current commits:

QB: KJ Costello
RB: Beau Bisharat
FB: Bailey McElwain
TE: Kaden Smith
WR: Simi Fehoko (effectively class of 2018)
OT: Clark Yarbrough
OG: Nate Herbig

S: Malik Antoine
CB: Nygel Edmonds
OLB: Curtis Robinson
DE/DT: Michael Williams
DT: Bo Peek

The following is a list of recruits I sense are most likely to commit given favorable admissions indicators:

RB: Trevor Speights
WR: Donald Stewart, Demetris Robertson
OT: Henry Hattis

S: Chacho Ulloa (sense Ikenna Okeke too but very hard to read - very good grades)
CB: Treyjohn Butler, David Long
OLB: Keith Simms (enthusiasm has dropped off a bit lately)
DE: Thomas Schaffer

Anyone else have players to add to the list? My understanding is that we are looking to add 2 OT, 1 OLB, 1 DL, 2 WR, 3 DB, and 1 RB to the current class.

Re: Class of 2016 - TrumpCard - 07-28-2015

Garrett Rand, depending on admissions.
I don't know the staff's goal, but 4 DL seems reasonable to me.
Maybe add a specialist to the numbers at the end of the post too.
A class of 20 plus Fehoko leaves room for 15 in the next class (plus slots that open up due to attrition).

Edit: Although the names you listed are probably the most likely, pending admission, there are a number of others that really should not be excluded yet.  Plus, there are guys who we probably don't even know about yet and there are guys who we know are interested but don't have offers.

I can hardly wait for Costello to graduate and become a regular contributor here.

Re: Class of 2016 - BobK - 07-28-2015

Agree with your numbers of course Trump but keep in mind we have two of 2017 commits.  Gabe Reid and Houston  Helmuli who will return from missions with the 2017 class

Interestingly the 2018 and 2019 classes are presently 14 and 15.

Inevitably by the time those classes come, they will be larger by a couple people due to attrition, medical retirements, holdovers, etc.  I would not be surprised if 2017, 2018, and 2019 all have more like 17 or 18 recruits rather than 14 or 15.

Well, I'm a little concerned about this tweet:

Dickerson is a very well-regarded prospect -- top 75 in the country. Overall. Somewhat surprising that such a well-rated prospect would get an offer so late in the process, but we'll see how it goes.

He's probably an insufferable smart ass like the rest of us.

Can't say that I'm too surprised by a 17-year-old alpha male type being swooned by a bombastic politician.

Politics and religion - everyone has an opinion on both and freedom to decide which to support or practice. Start a different thread if you want to discuss those topics, but let's leave the commentary on our recruits' beliefs or pursuits regarding either of the aforementioned away from the keyboard. The only result will be negative.
