Another big weekend for BVB:

Stanford's first meeting (this season) with #3 Cal Poly.  The Mustangs recently beat UCLA and LMU, but lost to LBSU.
The Cardinal beat #7 FSU a couple of weeks ago in Baton Rouge, 3-2.
And Stanford is 1-2 vs. #6 USC this season, winning 3-2 in Hawaii, but losing 2-3 and 1-4 more recently.

Stanford won the first set at 1s and 4s, lost at 2s and 5s. CP ahead 19-16 at the 3s.

Cal Poly has five courts so all five matches can be played at the same time.  I wish Stanford would add a fifth court.

Stanford beats FSU, winning the 3s, 4s, and 5s in straight sets.  FSU takes the 1s; 2s still at it. (Now going to a third set.)

I heard last year that Stanford was going to add a fifth court.  They have torn down the buildings to the southwest of the courts, and also (I think) cleared some of the space to the northeast.  Have not heard anything more about new construction.  Ideally they'd have six courts, so one could still be dedicated to warming up.

Oh, and Sorra/Wilson now have the Stanford record for beach wins as a pair, at 38.

Final:  4-1 over FSU.  Jackson/Rockwell jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the third set and it was never close after that (AFAICT); 15-6.

Stanford wins, currently 3-1.  1s going to third set.

ETA:  final is 3-2.  Stanford 3-0 on the weekend.
Not sure if that will secure them a place in the first place match, but I expect so.
I think they'll go up against the winner of the other pool (TCU, LMU, UCLA, ASU).

According to X Stanford will play first place match at 5:45 pm although the other pool seemed like a tougher pool to me.

Yes, #1 TCU vs. #2 UCLA right now.  If UCLA wins, they will be 3-0.  If TCU wins, there will be a three-way tie at 2-1.

ETA:  UCLA won 3-2, so Stanford will face the Bruins at 5:45.  (Or maybe closer to 6pm 6:25?)

6:20pm and USC vs. LMU is still going.  USC won 3-1, but the 4s:  second set ended at 30-28 and the third is now 28-28.

UCLA wins set 1 on 1s, 2s, and 3s.  Stanford takes first set on 4s and 5s.

ETA:  UCLA wins 1s, Stanford the 4s.  Others going three sets.

2-2, all comes down to the 3s.

UCLA wins 3-2.

Stanford 4s and 5s went 4-0 this weekend.  The 2s and 3s went 2-2; the 1s 1-3.
Obviously, Stanford needs more wins out of their top team.
