Serving directly to Bell on match point is not a good idea.

LOL, even the announcer said "they go to Bell..." with a note of bemusement.

I have no idea what the rules will be for playing on the beach team and the indoor team going forward. If feasible Hambly should try to get Avery Jackson to join the indoor team as a serving specialist. At times she served the USC team off the court today.

Her scholarship would count towards the indoor team

Except that as we shift from scholarship limits to roster limits, it will be interesting to see how dual sport athletes count. I presume they would count against the roster limits in both sports if they are on the roster of each.

NCAA selection committee surprises me again. Despite two losses this week, UCLA gets the #1 seed.
#1 UCLA
#2 TCU
#3 Stanford
#4 LMU
#5 USC
...
#10 Cal
Stanford starts with #14 Boise State at Noon PDT Friday, on ESPN2.

ETA: The final day of the MPSF tournament, including the championship, can now be streamed on B1G+

I don't understand how UCLA is the #1 seed although it doesn't bother me that much because I believe all top four seeds are pretty much even. The first match on Friday starts at 6:00 am Pacific time.

Belardi & Bell are the MPSF Tournament MVP.
Jackson & Rockwell also All-Tournament

At least USC and UCLA are on the other side of the bracket. I think Stanford got a favorable draw as a #3 seed. If the seeding plays out, Stanford should be the favorite until they meet TCU in the semis.
I wonder when the NCAA will expand the tournament to more teams.

Sadly this means I'm going to be forced to root for Cal (to beat 7 seed Texas). A Texas first round loss helps us in the very tight Directors Cup race.

I believe there are about 68 Div. 1 schools with beach volleyball, so 16 is already a pretty large field. (Two more schools adding it next year.)
ETA: in 2023 & 2024, there were 9 AQs, so a total of 17 teams in the tournament.
I agree about the favorable seeding.

this list shows 62 Division 1 teams

so expansion might not be soon.

Beach Volleyball is an "NC" sport, meaning that schools from multiple NCAA divisions compete for the same championship. Not just D1 schools.
https://web3.ncaa.org/directory/memberList?type=12&sportCode=WSV
The directory lists 104 schools. So 103 with the loss of Utah.
RE: Stanford Beach Volleyball -

University of Utah is in the Big-12 conference. There are four schools in the Big-12 with beach volleyball programs. Utah went 0-3 in conference this season which is understandable playing TCU, Arizona, and ASU.
Will Arizona and ASU apply for entry into the MPSF? It would make sense if the Big-12 allows it. TCU may be interested in the MPSF also but geographically it's not ideal for them.

Note that Texas, LSU, FSU and South Carolina are already joining the MPSF for beach VB next year. So TCU joining, too, would not be crazy.
