Yep.  Two left.  I would be very impressed if anyone gets 2B, a NY Giant with whom I was not familiar.

Davey Williams.
3B Jim Davenport

If not Williams how about my earlier quoted Laughing Larry Doyle?

You never cease to amaze me.  Larry Doyle, at 2B

and, of course, the Golden Glove, one of my favorite Giants at 3B.   I can still hear Russ Hodges talking about the kid from Siluria, Alabama. For some reason that resonated with me - what an exotic sounding place......

And a great guy to boot. Close to Art Santo Domingo and all Art's Santa Clara buddies. How did they lose the '62 Series? Mays, Cepeda, McCovey, Felipe, Manny, Bailey, Haller, Pagan, Kuenn, Davenport, Marichal, Sanford, Pierce, O'Dell, Larsen. The best SF Giants lineup and it's not even close.

Don't forget Chuck "Grandslam" Hiller!

Lots of kudos to Crawford at the game tonight

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 06-08-2021

Crawford responds with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 06-09-2021

Last Stanford Giant Brian Dallimore.

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 06-09-2021

The Stanford to Giants question was interesting

Thanks for that one DC

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 06-09-2021

How many USF Dons have played for the Warriors?

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 06-09-2021

None recently?

Phil Smith

Oh yeah, and Joe Ellis. Those are the only guys that come right to mind.

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 06-09-2021

Mike Farmer ?

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 06-09-2021

Farmer played for the St. Louis Hawks.

Ellis and Smith. Correct.

Guy Williams
Bill Reid
Fred LaCour. Arguably he and Tom Meschery were the greatest talents to come from The City since Luisetti. Had many demons and died way too early.

Phil Smith and Eric Fernsten were my dorm counselors in a summer basketball camp circa 1971. Good guys. Smith died way too young.

Who is the oldest living New York or San Francisco Giant?

Thanks, Bob. There are actually almost twice as many Stanford baseball players who subsequently played for the Oakland As (17, including two who also played for the Giants), I know most people on here are Giants fans but perhaps want to guess the Stanford/Oakland players?
