I think there is a legitimate question of whether she would start at Stanford.

Both Francis and Andrew were also top 10 recruits.  Is Francis really going to sit her senior year?  Andrew has been a perennial starter on the U19 and U21 National teams.

It would be great to have some depth at MB...

Nebraska women’s basketball coach Amy Williams said it’s her understanding Maggie Mendelson will transfer and concentrate on volleyball. Williams said that she and Mendelson have been in a dialogue.

I learned something at our National Volleyball Coaches convention that bummed me out… And it is time we talk about it.

Div I Women’s VB is one of the worst sports for “tampering” in recruiting.

Where it gets especially hard to track is when coaches have their players do the contacting. So many of our top athletes know one another from USA youth programs so a coach can suggest they reach out and basically do the recruiting for them.

A coach calls a club or HS coach and says something like “we have a scholarship for a setter. Is So-and-So happy where’s she playing?” If this is coming from a top tier program it may end with something like “she could win a national championship with us.”

A player has interest in transferring & instead of entering the portal first, they ask a club coach to start calling schools on their behalf. All coaches are aware they can’t provide info regarding level of interest, scholarships or NIL money until a player is on the portal.  Yet we are seeing players telling other coaches they have made their decision minutes after entering the portal. This is also tampering.
