This was not correct, was it?
The Giants' brief lead was much earlier than T9.
BTW, what hurts so much about this L is that it was with Webb starting. And he gave up 4 in the first inning and made it through only 4 innings. Ugh!
I liked the fight in the Giants, coming all the way back from 0-4 deficit; I definitely do NOT like failing to score with runner on 2B and no outs. The Pads scored the winning run w/o a hit in B10 (sac bunt; grounder to 2B).
10th was so disappointing. The guy had nothing. Gets Belt and Bryant to pop out after falling behind 3-0 to both. That was your ballgame. Speaking of Bryant. Anyone else disappointed in how he’s played since coming to SF? You can bunt in bottom of inning if the visiting team doesn’t score. No sense to do so when you are the visiting team.

Bryant disappointing to me. Strikes out a ton, weak defensively. Absolutely do not sign him. Save the money for a starter or two. Yaz and Slater need to cut down on their swing and miss but I would keep them. Wade should play every day and I bet would learn how to hit lefties. Keep Ruf, Estrada, Flores, bring up Bart.

I like Bryant like him in the OF like him hitting when he doesn’t K lol
But if more than $20M probably not And I can’t imagine not at least 5 years at more than $20M

Ho hum. The Giants just won their 100th game of the season. Dodgers are leading late in theirs, so the lead stays at 1.

LA has 2 left with AZ, 3 with SD and closes with 3 vs MIL. Giants have 2 with CO, 3 with AZ and close with 3 vs SD.
MIL has clinched their spot and who knows who they throw out there against LA. SD will be out of playoff contention and probably in the same boat.
Giants with 4 HRs today, 3 of them solo shots.

Good news on the minor league front…
Both Eugene and San Jose (High-A West and Low-A West, respectively) won championships tonight.
The Giants are loaded with talent in the low minors.

Dodgers will sweep AZ. Giants need to at least split these last two. Pads essentially already done. But I think they will compete hard against both Giants and Dodgers.
Giants need to go at least 6-2. Probably 7-1. Dodgers could run the table.
St.L. 14 straight. Amazing.

In last night's post-game interview with Greg Papa, Papa asked Brandon Crawford how the Giants will do in their last eight games and Brandon replied (paraphrased) that he thought the Giants could run the table.

Nope. Dodgers lost today. A chance to go up by 2 with 7 to go.

Who would have thought that the three OBG’s would be the key guys this year?

I think the Belt Wars are over. The “Captain” has led his troops to an unconditional victory……
It is time to sign him to an extension.

Yep. Giants have something like 45 HRs from first base this year.

Especially if he ends up with 30 home runs this year.
Giants' 2022 salary (assuming they exercise club options on Posey, Flores, and Alavarez and let Cueto go) is currently at $57,915,300 and covers Posey, Crawford, Longoria, Flores, Alvarez, La Stella, and McGee. They have a little over $134 million in cap space to sign all of their starters and relievers outside of McGee, and all of their other starters and role players. Feel pretty good about it, I do.
After tonight's scary victory and last night's tortuous victory, coupled with a Superbas loss, the Giants have a two game lead with seven to play. Suck it, Bridegrooms...

Giants is correct. Plenty of talent but a couple years away. 40 man roster cuts difficult.

You are assuming the new CBA will reflect a luxury tax figure (not a cap) close to the current number. I suggest the number will be considerably different.

It was 46 after Friday’s game. It is 48 now. The highest total for a single position by any team in the Majors.

You’re right. I thought the Giants would win the tiebreaker head to head but I was mistaken.

Next four games are the critical ones IMHO. The Rockies and Dbacks (especially the Dbacks) are "weaker" teams in the league. The Giants all year have made hay by beating teams they should beat. These are teams they should beat. They need to do so. It is probable that the Giants need to win at least 4 and probably 5 of the remaining 7 games. The last LA loss to the Dbacks was of "immense proportions". If the Giants don't do the same, I like our chances a lot!
