We have a patchwork OL with three true freshmen. Proud of the way they played today. Defense still needs more work but Adebo Island was bigtime. I'm going to enjoy his last two home games.
Yes, the sine quo non of freshman play is inconsistency. I expect variability in play to be the rule rather than the exception for the last four games, but their play so far augurs well for the next few years. We have seen that the OL’s ceiling is high, and more experience will allow them to have fewer UCLA like moments.

True, but UCLA used a very different defensive approach against AZ State. They didn't play nearly as tight, played some zone, and they didn't rush six or more all the time. Azzinaro has done pretty well these last two games. I had never heard of him before, although he is pretty experienced. I am not sure that UCLA will keep this up. It may be regression to the mean time. OTOH, they may have found the formula.

Also, football is a game of matchups. Maybe UCLA’s defensive front matched up better than either Washington’s or Ariz. Of course, it helped UCLA hugely that they had an inexperienced third string QB at the helm. They could essentially commit 8-9 to the box to stop the run and blitz with impunity. Make the third stringer prove he can beat you.

Thanks, cardcoug. My usual streaming service was not working over here in Austria. This link saved the game.

Yeah cardcoug, I think I thanked Marty up above. But thank you (or whoever posted the site). It worked like a charm for me, and so far I have not experienced any strange phenomena in my computer's performance.
