Halfway through the 3rd quarter, several OSU players just looked spent.

imo 2 things changed:
in the second half we stopped doubling the ball-handler (leaving one player open) and thus stopped giving up open 3s.
in the 4th quarter tara gave haley the green light to drive at will. 6 drives, 5/5 in the quarter plus fouled on her 6th drive, 1/2 on the free throws

Last 15:41 we outscored Oregon State 34-10. People here wanted a close game abd it was for about 25 minutes

They only called one push off foul on OSU the whole game. Goforth got called, but she was doing the same thing she does on every drive. I wonder if that one call came because Tara complained about it to the refs at the half.
This illegal move is used to push the defender into screens. This happened to Williams and Wilson all night. I don't think I've seen a team use this technique as much as OSU did tonight. It was so pervasive among their players that I can't help but believing that they are being coached to use this technique. I sure with the refs would put a stop to it.

Williams and Wilson are going to need a lot of time in an ice bath after that game. They were running through ball screens (often by T. Jones) on almost every OSU possession. I don't think they were illegal or moving screens. But there was a lot of contact. That's just how the game is played nowadays. The defense on the OSU guards seemed to wear them down in the 2nd half.

I think Williams and Wilson’s defense was the catalyst for the second half blowout. They wore their guards down which seemed to affect the entire Oregon State offense.
Jones was fantastic in the second half. Those finishes were impressive yet she made them look so easy.
They really had no match for Jones, as neither of their power forwards were able to stop her and neither scored much (a combined three points).
Proud of Jump and Jerome’s contributions.
Oregon State has some good younger guards.

Lots of good thoughts above. OSU is a good shooting, good passing, and good screening team. Seemed like their screens were mostly solid, not moving stuff we sometimes see teams do. That said, they are not fast, don't rebound all that well, all things considered, and if they are not shooting threes well, they will have a hard time. They are not a disruptive defensive team either, though their Jones inside is a pretty good rim defender.
First half we shot great but our defense was not great. As noted above, Tara adjusted to cover their shooters better and let their drivers try it, and it was no problem after that, really. Well, not a big problem - it took a while to build the big lead.
I wonder what was up with Fran? Not feeling well so tried to hold her out or a minor ding and same thing, but with Cameron's foul trouble she was needed??? I was very glad to see her able to play. Hope Ashten is available on Monday too.
Good job Alyssa on offense!!! Nice to see her score like that. She is not a good post defender or rebounder though, which hurt for a while.
Hayley started not so great, but had a really great second half. When she is on, this is a whole different team.
Kiana has been playing much more consistently great lately. Her shot has been much better and she just looks peppier. Nice game by her, offense and defense both, once we got the D sorted.
Anna always brings her defense. So many on ball screens by OSU to fight around.
Hannah had a very nice game. She is now able to defend one-on-one pretty darn well unless the opponent is hyper quick, which OSU gaurds are not.
Not the best game for either Hull, but that's ok, onward to Monday.

"10-footer, goes 9" pretty much summed up OSU's late third and fourth quarters. They had the shots; they just couldn't get them in the bucket. Considering how hot they were earlier in the game, seems like reversion to the mean, but I was surprised at how many bunnies they just missed.

Even their own TV announcer commented on how tired on their legs they looked (but by that point, it could have been that they were just depressed at being so far behind). That will make your shots miss.

Excellent video quality. It fills up my entire screen which the livestream did not. I don't know if this is possible; it looks like better resolution and quality than the original livestream.
