Rough day for the PAC so far. The Sun Devils lose to Creighton, Oregon State lost to Creighton. Wazzu struggling with Boise State. Certainly not the usual excellence this season from the PAC.

It looks like South Carolina will hang on to beat Maryland.

A difference maker has been Carolina's 60 total rebounds, including 25 offensive rebounds! Remember we gave up 24 o-boards to a smaller South Florida team, so we will really need to box out and limit their second chance opportunities.

It was tough stopping Cooke last year in the national semis and I don't see anyone on our roster this year either that can match her speed and agility to the basket.

Anyone else hear the end of the press conference Tara asking what happened to Azzi Fudd and Brink responding she dropped a barbell on her foot leading to her stress reaction/injury. I do read the UConn boards and this was the first I had heard or read of that being the cause of injury.

For sure. Jump will also need to guard one of Cooke/Henderson. I also agree with other posters that Agnes could play a big role as a defensive stopper this year. I'd like to see her play more to get a better feel for her quickness. If she can stay in front of players like Cooke, her strength and length could cause them serious problems. Feeling like we need to put some length on her because she had her way with Anna and Ki in the national semi's. Although we won that game, en route to a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Just wanted to type that. 

Also, So Carolina isn't the same team without Destanee Henderson. They looked sloooow today. Maryland got lots of points in transition. Agree w/Marty though - I felt better about our chances after watching them play today.

I know nothing about either school, but wonder if this is some sort of D1 record for margin of victory. Also noted that Carver had 49 turnovers to only 2 assists (pretty tough to get many assists when you only have 6 field goals). And we thought that Stanford had problems with turnovers!

You piqued my interest with your post - I appreciate it.  I'm always curious when I see names of colleges I've never heard before.
But I think I can understand the lopsided score, having Googled Carver College.
First of all, this was not a NCAA Division 1 score. It's a NCCAA Division 1 competition - as in National Christian College Athletic Association.
Second, the entire student body of Carver is something on the range of 37.

Ah, I guess that explains it, sort of. That NCCAA D1 bit.  Too bad in a way. It would have been a really neat trivia bit. And if you only have 37 students, pretty hard to put a competitive team together. Guess I should have Googled Carver College. Glad you did. It's interesting that ESPN even listed the game.

If there ever was a time for a coach to ask "What's your deal?"  And to think they did it to a Christian school no less!  I mean, was GS channeling the Roman gladiators?  Carver College is all about service to the Lord, so maybe taking this game was some sort of flagellation.  If so, boy they got their money's worth.  49 turnovers?

We actually match up well with So.Carolina - tall 
and rebounding. They are weak at FT and 3 pt shooting like us, so they won't get an edge in our weakest areas. However, we have potential to be very good from 3 and more than them. Just have to clean up the turnovers.

I am concerned overall about:

1. Will Lacie step up enough at PG to lead us to a championship? Does she have enough ball handling skills?
2. Are players ok with their PT? I'm thinking mainly about Prechtel, Wilson, perhaps Belebi, and maybe the other back up guards? 
3. Will our shooting improve?

If Lacie is practicing every day against Anna and Agnes I would have to think her ball handling will improve.
