What, so now she has to fly coach and stay in flea-infested cheap motels away from the team? I would have thought playing pro ball was tough enough on its own. I sure hope they're paying her enough to make it worthwhile.

Was scrolling yesterday and saw someone I recognized on the screen. Yep it was Karli in the second half of a Phoenix game. Apparently, there are a number of injuries etc, plus Griner, leaving the team short. (I dont know the hardship, etc. rules) She was in with Taurasi for about 4 min and never saw the ball. Then, Delana Deshelds came in for Taurasi, I think, and she brought the ball up court and shot. Once she passed to someone in the paint, and once to Karli, who missed. Otherwise she must have put up 8-10 shots as they tried to overcome other team. Karli did make one three and was 1-3 in the fourth qtr. Karli was a step slow on D, and had two turnovers, I think, but otherwise was pretty good for somebody off the street.

Lexie had her best game as a pro, scoring 10 in helping the Fever upset defending champs Chicago Sky a week after graduation! She had a good stretch to end the 3Q, including this
triple, and big block with 17 seconds left in the contest to preserve the lead. Team-leading +15 for the game! Must be a confidence boost to be on the court in crunch time. Maybe now that her studies are over, she can really show why she’s a first round pick!

So glad to learn this positive news about her. I've been expecting her to be cut, but maybe not now.

I saw Lexie, Lacie, Haley, Fran + others at Sunken Diamond watching the baseball team vs. Yukon (13-12 game). They looked to be in good spirits.

More often than not, it appears she has a top 3 +/- for the Fever. Nice to see her get enough minutes today to show her capability.

No Avenida for her, or her sister, next season.
Avenida did add Erica McCall

Just looked at the box score. Oof. Rough night at least from a statistical standpoint. Hope she played better than the numbers indicate.

Lexi's season stats:
FGM-A: 12-56 = 21.4%
3PM-A: 3-21 = 14.3%
In 18 games played in, she's been in double figures once.

Happy to report Lexie had her best game yet in a Fever uniform: 14 PTS, 5/7 FT, 7 RB, 4 S (but also 4 TO and 5 F). The team is a dumpster fire and they were missing Kelsey Mitchell, so that's probably why Lexie got a season high 26 mins, but it's something.
Plus
this sweet highlight and 1. She looked more like the Lexie of Stanford than I've seen in the W yet. Not sure this changes the long-term picture, but gratifying see her grit through some early adversity and keep fighting. (Not that I'm surprised!)

Lexie was high scorer for her team last night, putting in 17.
Unfortunately, in a game reminiscent of our game with South Carolina last year, her team built up a big halftime lead and proceeded to blow it in the second, ending up losing in OT.

What a tough situation.
She's probably lost more games in the WNBA this season than at Stanford.
Good to see she's finally getting playing time and putting up some stats.

It's called confidence and Lexie looks to have found it after her most recent 17 point game.
