Agree that Mater Dei could.  They won the CA State Championship; ask David Bailey.
And Mater Dei has students in class on campus.
But, Santa Ana Stadium only holds 9,000

Good call Comp. Announcers missed it. Kent is terrible.

Beg to differ camera man. Kent has been pretty good. He hasn't had alot of experience. As one in our group said, "he's very easy to listen to." I think he and Camarillo, who is quite good, are a promising pair.

I noticed that, too. My guess was that they are using this game as a way to prep the switch to RT, so I don't understand why they did that.

Well, I figured it out. Branson Bragg did not play! I do not know if it was injury or discipline or whatever. But Levi Rogers started at RG for Bragg. Rogers is listed as the second string at LG on the depth chart. Since I am guessing that Rogers did not leapfrog Miller in the overall OL pecking order, they would have prepped Miller to start at RG if they knew about Bragg's absence for more than a couple of days. But perhaps Rogers performance was such that they were pressed to play Miller at RG anyway early in the game.

These are all just guesses, but it is interesting.

Miller did play some LT in the 4th qtr.

Shaw said Bragg was injured, and is questionable for the SC game as well.

LOL. are you kidding? Kent almost never called a tackler. Monotone. Ever worked with talent?

Strong passing game.
Questionable run offense and run defense.
This team will go as far this year as McKee's arm will take us.

This team will go as far as the front seven on defense. If they suck (again), teams will run all over us (again) and our offense will be under tremendous pressure to score on literally every drive because there's no confidence that the defense can get a stop

Agree re tackle call which is one of my pet peeves. I'm willing to give hm a few games to pick up that talent. And, re working with talent, you mean me or ??? If me, yes, a ton of talent.

I read it somewhere on the board before the game. Can't recall poster.

You're right that the front seven has to be at least somewhat effective. However, we aren't going to win games 17-10. If we win it is going to be because we put a lot of points on the scoreboard and McKee is the guy that is going to have to do it.

RE: Stanford vs Colgate Game Thread - TriangleTree - 09-04-2022

What gave me hope:
Michael Wilson, one bad drop to start and then wow. He deserves a full season
Tremayne fully back
McKee, incredible placement particularly on high balls. One bad drive
The rest of the receiving and TE corps
EJS pass catching and speed in open field
OL pass protection impecable
Moi, name called a lot and always disruptive, could be who he was lining up against but looked to me the real deal
Miezan looked improved
Secondary

What concerns me:
Ability to run for short gains, painful memories of tackles behind LOS coming back
RB not being able to gain much after contact.
Offense a bit like a high performance sports car that’s not quite fine tuned and can sputter, need to be able to run for 3.5 yds consistently
Ability to contain mobile QB
Ability to stop running game outside tackles
Was hoping to see/hear more of Bailey

Looking ahead to next week, no reason for me to  feel like we don’t have a chance against SC. Would love nothing more than bringing them a peg or four, again.

RE: Stanford vs Colgate Game Thread - Bampa - 09-04-2022

If you remove the first run of 87 yards, Stanford only had 82 running yards for the rest of the game.

Against Colgate? Dang...

If so, that changes one's whole perspective on the kick: it was incredible skill to hit the upright on purpose. ;-)

Always liked Jordan.  Mrs. Mick taught him in first grade at Fairmeadow School in Palo Alto when we were newlyweds.
