Yang at 51 feet win the TJ. His Frosh year he was around 45. brobdingnagian improvement

Is it the coaches or is it the athlete making this decision? Whittaker is not entered in the 800 where she has a chance to win. She is entered in the 1500 where she likely won't make the NCAA final.

Udodi runs 10.16 into a slight headwind to lead the qualifying for the quarterfinals in 2 days. All of the other heats had a tailwind. He really doesn't need to run that fast in the heats. That would have been 10.00 flat with the tail wind everyone else got.
200 heats in progress right now. Awaiting Udodi's heat.
Udodi 20.33. Won his heat. 2nd place overall, 1/1000 of a second behind 1st. Doesn't matter. We know he can run under 20 seconds. Just the heats. Better that he doesn't go all out until NCAA Championships in 2 weeks.

Seems very odd to be talking about "all out" when the winning time differences are in fractions of a second. Seems to me that you can very easily lose or gain those small time fractions simply in how you start, or when you ease up at the end.

Surprisingly, easing up and running 3/10's slower is common. Whether that truly saves energy for the later heats I'm not completely sure. I'm not a sprinter.
Only 2 of our 4 women advance to the quarterfinals in the 800. I still cannot get over the fact that Whittaker is not running the 800. She has no chance to win the 1500.

20.07 in the 200. 3rd place but only wind legal time that fast in the east or the west today.

I'm going to say it one more time. Putting Whittaker in the 1500 instead of the 800 is one of the most stupid coaching moves ever. Whittaker will not be going to the NCAA's. She could have contended for first in the 800. Unbelievable.

Hey Bob. Are we recruiting Mia Brahe-Pederson? Just put up an 11.00 100m. 11th grade runner in Oregon with high grades. I know it will be tough going up against Oregon. We don't have proven success with female sprinters.

She has run 1:59. It took 2:04.9 to get into the NCAA Championship. Our Roisin Willis was first in 2:02. Our freshman James was the last one in with a PB.

We have had proven success with sprinters
School record three times in the 400 this year But yes it’s been awhile for 100 200
I have tried to find out about Pederson but all I know is she has Oregon connections
I’m with family hard to keep current but both women’s relay teams advanced
