Worst case scenario. Couldn't be more disastrous than that. Feel really bad for Raynaud who came back to Stanford and was close to getting a NCAA tourney appearance.

Wow! What a way to lose. Zebras had a few assists for the Ville that affected the game.
Proud of the game we played today. I thought it may be a repeat of the last game, but we played them toe-to-toe.

What was Okpara trying to do there. Feel for him. What a terrible way to end after the play prior where he had the steal and tied the game. We did have a 15 point lead and blew it. Raynauld needed to play better and smarter. Overall we competed and the refs were terrible. Lots to be proud of this season. Have to get lucky sometimes and it wasn’t in the cards.

I missed all of it except the final game-winner by L'ville, but the final score tells me this was a heck of an effort by Stanford. I might actually try to find the replay, something I never do in a loss. I'm sure the team is heartbroken, however.

Okpara got fouled more than once on the rebound and if they called it, he would have been shooting free throws to win it

C'mon, I know officiating can be unfair, but we had a 15-pt lead and couldn't hold onto it. You can't always blame it on the refs, might as well never watch it.

The "refs gave the game to the other team" charge will last until the end of time for every losing team, especially in a close games. Even with AI, I don't know if everyone can be fully satisfied.
Yeah I think you can add "Blaming a close loss on the refs" as a certainty along with death and taxes.

I didn't get to watch much of the game, but in fairness to the refs, the 5th foul on Renaud was a good call.
no argument there. Reynaud committed some really dumb fouls

Actually, I’d say the Cards were quite lucky.

As Stanford fans, we focus on the bad calls against us, but I am sure if you are a Louisville supporter, there were calls/non-calls that went in our favor too that they are up in arms about.
Unfortunately, some of the calls/non-calls came at critical moments for us. I was hoping we can at least hold on to the big lead, so it wouldn't come down to a call or a play, which it did.

The commentators were pretty clear that (i) Okpara got fouled at the end, (ii) the third foul on Reynaud was not a foul, and (iii) Cammann got fouled shortly thereafter (thrown to the ground, but no call, which have been their big guy's fourth foul), and instead leading to another possession and three-pointer when they were making their big comeback. These were all big calls that all went against Stanford. It's difficult to win when it's five-on-six. This game deserved OT.
Having vented that, Stanford played very well most of the game, making clutch shots paired with strong defense to nearly win it. Well done team and coaching staff!

True enough but in the final second almost no refs are going to call that foul.
Okpara appeared to be trying to heave an outlet pass to Sellers who had leaked out all by himself to the other end. It had no chance but I can see why Okpara might have had the thought that such a pass could win the game.
As it turned out, he made a perfect pass to Hepburn who just barely got the shot off before the buzzer. ANY other action would have sent the game to overtime ... where I am guessing we would have lost given the game flow (and Raynaud's seat on the bench).
It also hurt because Stanford had actually played really good defense on the final possession - minus the one moment.

Winning the ACC tournament would have been lovely, but getting a win over Cal and then playing one of the top seeds to the wire in the ACC tournament was a decent effort.
In October if someone had predicted the team would get 20 wins and would be that close to reaching the ACC semifinals I would have been thrilled.
The roster turnover will be tough to manage, but I am excited to see what this coach and his team can achieve in 2025-2026.
Hopefully the team will get to play in the NIT as I do think the program would benefit from a postseason tournament experience.
