Matt Rose with 14 tackles. That is warrior level.
Also Stanford may have killed Justin Wilcox with that win. Cal fans are justifiably irate over the lousy effort in the biggest game of the season.

After our stumble start to season who woulda had us now ahead of UNC, VTech, and FSU in the ACC standings?

I just got home from the game. For those who asked about attendance, the stands were sparse at kickoff (what's new?), but the stadium was packed by early second quarter. The concourse and concessions were very crowded all the time until Cal fans started leaving. Haven't seen a crowd that that in a long time.
They announced record student attendance of something over 6,000! Kudos to Andrew Luck and his team for getting them there. They trickled in during the first quarter but did show up. The student corner or the stadium and endzone lower level were completely full Some students are clearly new to fandom (a chant or two while on offense), but the they showed great enthusiasm as the game progressed. Many, many on the field after the game. Hope that means we will see more of them in future.

Thrilled with this win! That was the most fun I've had at Stanford Stadium in YEARS. The place was packed, the student section was rocking, and those of us who, ahem, haven't been students for quite a while still had a grand old time. brobdingnagian credit to Andrew Luck for keeping enthusiasm up even as this program has continued to struggle. He's been relentless in building relationships across campus and building community among students, alums, and other fans. Feels great to see it pay off, at least for tonight.

What fun! So, Jay Green is leading C-House. A redshirt junior, he could return. Is he leaving? Hope not. Excellent player and great team guy.

He was toast regardless of the outcome. Considering the overall incompetence of the ACC, Cal has had an awful season.
Here is a number that confirms the ongoing mediocrity of their program:
2009 - the last year in which Cal posted a winning conference record (and that string of misery will continue into 2026).

It was weird that Staples dislodged the ball with his foot but it seems legal according to the rules.
Here are the two relevant sections I can find. The rule against kicking only talks about a loose ball, and the section on illegal kicks specifies that the action must be intentional.
SECTION 4. BATTING AND KICKING
Illegally Kicking Ball
ARTICLE 4. A player shall not kick a loose ball, a forward pass or a ball being held for a place kick by an opponent.
SECTION 16. KICKS; KICKING THE BALL
Kicking the Ball; Legal and Illegal Kicks
ARTICLE 1. a. Kicking the ball is intentionally striking the ball with the knee, lower leg or foot ..... d. When in question, a ball is accidentally touched rather than kicked.
