I thought she said she was going to play here another year. Well, if she did I guess she changed her mind.
I recall the same at a recent press conference. But money (and winning) talks... I could see UCLA or Minnesota as obviously landing spots for her.
Now I'm really wondering what Bob's good news was...
Yeah I will bet Cori is all over that one.
Right after she loses in the Final Four.

Same because from what I’m reading on Twitter, I don’t see much good news coming and I’m now expecting the worst… I just can’t take this bad news when it comes to basketball. It’s been my go to for whatever feelings I’m going through..

Ok same source as Kate on thin ice but Somfai back and staying
However I sure we all wonder if another of our top 6 leaves why stay
Another worry how much can we pay to keep players. I am thrown by this because we raised (I’m a very small timer) much more than was spent this season

Not a total surprise, but this hurts.
Yes. I thought she was our best all around player this year.

Lara staying does make me happy and optimistic. It’s sad to see anyone leave but still think things can get better if some changes are made and the returning players can come back even better than how they played at end of season. Yes, I’m always going to try to be positive and optimistic. I know no other way.

Of course with Nunu announcing we are in a state of flux.

Got it, thanks Bob. Honestly, if Nunu is our only major loss, I can live with it. I'll be honest, she didn't really improve since her sophomore leap, and I'd rather keep our frosh who we've invested a lot in and can form the nucleus of our team for the next three years...
... Now, here's hoping that's all we lose...

On X @SkimMilkey just reposted their reporting from a month ago that Agara would be leaving. Not clear whether that was speculation or whether they had inside information. The other 3 players in this report have entered the portal as well. Seems like a decision that could have been made some time ago given that Agara was graduating. I don't know either way though.

Yeah if we can't win and make the tourney next year with four experienced HS AA's in the starting lineup, something is definitely the matter.
(Assuming of course, none of them hit the bricks.)

Seems to me that this is just one more reason the Stanford model (recruit freshman and keep them for four years) will not work in this new world. Further what advantage is there for juniors or seniors to portal to Stanford. They are unlikely to ever get a Stanford degree.

Reportedly Ambon is planning to transfer too. Waiting for her official announcement.

Mary Ashley Stephenson is leaving. She praises her professors, teammates and fans, but no reference to coaches other then saying she has "decided to find a basketball environment that suits me better". Says she told the coaches of her decision earlier this week.

Interesting post. It’s most telling what’s not said in her farewell post. No reference to the coaches or staff or sisterhood.

The absence of any mention of the coaches is especially weird because Paye raved about her all the time.
I don't know that I think it's telling that she didn't mention the players because if you look in the comments for both her and Nunu's announcement the players are all very complimentary of both of them.
All that said, given that almost all of us wanted her to have fewer minutes on the floor, while we will once again have a short bench for bigs, if she, Nunu and Amborn are our portal losses, we can survive. Any more and things start to look extremely worrying.

Haley Jones to the Portland Fire in the WNBA Expansion draft.

Depends on what we can get out of the '26 frontcourt players and the portal. Right now we have 4 portal slots (add Peterson's) to refill but several needs to fill - IMHO PG, 2 posts, and a wing scorer - so here's hoping
