October 13, 2023 vs. Colorado...523 yards. Before that, Sept 10, 2022 game against USC, 505 yards.
Actually, just for the record - for that 2022 game, it was the the University of (Head) Stompin' Children who had 505 total yards - we had 441.

Great win! Refreshing to see us dominate any opponent for a quarter.
Was at the game and read this thread after. Let's remember that good result doesn't equal good play call, and bad result doesn't equal bad play call. Lots of criticism of running it up the middle, but we scored a 7-yard TD doing that and had some key 3rd down draw plays to either convert or set up 4th and short.
Maybe could have been more aggressive late. But on the penultimate drive we did drop back to throw on 1st down (Warren scrambled for a few yards). And on the last drive our first run got us 4 yards, which is a good result in that game circumstance. The missed PI was brutal.

I was wondering how it got to be 4th and 45 for GT. Raise your hand if you knew that in college football the offense is penalized back to the exact spot of an intentional grounding foul (the spot where the quarterback threw the pass). I did not. A fortunate and timely penalty which was caused by Stanford pressure which (FINALLY) did not allow Mendoza any escape gaps.

turtled on last 2 drives. 5 straight runs (average of 1 ypc) and then a 3rd down pass. two 3 and outs. playcalling eerily similar to the previous 5 years.

Our Run game is the least imaginative I have seen. No adjustments.
Agreed. Also, iirc, GT was giving up gobs of rushing yards to their previous three opponents: 188 yds to Mercer most recently.
Stanford rushed for 86 yards against GT last night. But we got the win, and we finally leaned on our strengths (until the last couple of offensive possessions -- Pritchard must have been channeling his inner Shaw).

I actually did. Seen it too many times over the last few years watching Milroe and Keelon at Alabama. At least Keelon has the excuse of being a redshirt freshman. . . .

Yes, an intentional grounding penalty winds up being the equivalent of a sack, which is what the QB is trying to avoid by trying to ground the ball. Personally, I think it should be 5 yards from the spot of the foul for good measure…
Here’s the fun play for those trying to relive it at home:
