How about some Olympics trivia:
Who was the only Olympic medalist to win a Nobel prize?
What is the only country to compete in every moden Olympics under its own flag?
The 1900 Olympics had a number of discontinued events, including the equestrian long jump. Which Olympic record is longer, the equestrian long jump, or the (human) long jump?
Who was the first Black Olympic athlete? What year? What sport? Which country did he represent?
Who was the oldest gold medalist? Who was the oldest Olympian?
Who was the youngest medalist?
Which athlete has won medals in the most different sports?
Which female athlete competed in the most different sports?
Which athlete has won a medal in both the summer and winter Olympics?

No and no. The female athlete competed in swimming (1996), triathlon (2000, 2004) and modern pentathlon (2008). She has a gold from swimming, but finished 6th and 23rd in the triathlon and 19th in the modern pentathlon.
I wasn't specific enough in the medalist question; it is someone who won a gold in both summer and winter Olympics, specifically boxing gold in Antwerp and the Bobsled gold in Lake Placid. There is at least one other person who won a medal (but not necessarily gold) in both summer and winter Olympics, and in fact, did it the same year (1988): Gold in speed skating in Calgary and silver in track cycling in Seoul.

Longest held track records are in the standing high jump and the standing broad jump. Both discontinued. Roy Ewry was a multiple Olympic champ for the USA.

Demont's medicine was not banned. The team/coach failed to list in the paperwork.
The shot-putter was Mike Weeks. Became Dead Mike. A daydreaming official was not concentrating when she crossed the landing area during warmups and was hit in the neck/back area. She was ok at first and Mike wasn't informed until the next day.

I am just catching up on this thread, I did know the answers to Mount, DeMont, Wottle, Patton.
Jesse Owens degradingly ran against horses after his triumph in Berlin when he was broke, I assume he must have won at times.
Eddie Hart (and a teammate) were given the wrong times for their preliminary 100 meter races and were disqualified, they were watching the prelims on TV and realized that they were absent and had no way of getting to the track in time. Hart was one of the favorites; Valery Borzov won the gold. One of many bizarre incidents at the 1972 amid the tragic murder of Israeli athletes.
Great hurdler Willie Davenport tried the bobsled but am pretty sure never medaled. Benjamin Spock was an Olympic rower but not a Nobel winner I don't think.

Lord Philip Noel Baker, who won a silver in the 1500 m in the 1920 games in Antwerp and was subsequently awarded the Nobel peace prize for his work on disarmament in 1959.

Yeah DC but you didn't say what is was about Wottle.
And Jim Keating of Commerce High and State beat a horse in a race in the City in the 40's. perhaps the greatest all around athlete to come out of SF. Tore up the old California League but quit baseball because he made more money teaching PE at Everett JHS and coaching SI baseball.
DC mentioned Patton as to the American commander. He competed (5th) in the old Moderne Pentathlon in 1912. I think it was still an event into the 70's.

I'm sure Bob knows this, but in Dave Wottle's famous race he was well behind the pack until storming past the whole field to win, as if he was sprinting, but in actuality his four 200 m splits were almost identical, really a brilliant effort.
