RE: Class of 2021 - BobK - 03-25-2020

No known QB offers for 2021. One possible Thompson committed to Oregon last week

RE: Class of 2021 - Papa John - 03-25-2020

Miller Moss is still uncommitted...

The wait is over.

Notably, a DUAL-THREAT QB.

RE: Class of 2021 - slide - 03-25-2020

wow, a headscratcher.  has Patu ever started in HS?  he is not a top 500 national recruit and we pass on a 247 national composite top 50 QB?  a dual threat QB averaging 4.2 ypc in high school?

RE: Class of 2021 - BobK - 03-25-2020

I think a great offer. If he commits soon

RE: Class of 2021 - OutsiderFan - 03-25-2020

So David Shaw is officially now a dual threat QB guy. I’m not complaining.

I have never been sold on Miller Moss. He’s not quick enough for my liking. Reminds me of Burns and Chryst. Big, sturdy guys, but lacking the play making athleticism seemingly so important in today’s game.

Moss is also on the shorter side at 6'2". Patu is 6'4".

RE: Class of 2021 - Papa John - 03-26-2020

Other than Dallas Lloyd, has Stanford signed a dual threat QB in the Harbaugh-Shaw era?

And BobK, why is it important that Patu commits soon?

I don't think we have signed one, but we tried hard with Wimbush who was classified as dual threat by 247 so its not like Shaw hasn't pursued them in the past.  Mobile QBs are seeming to become more prevalent and effective at all levels so I like to see Shaw opening up his mind to alternatives to the Stanford prototypical QB.

RE: Class of 2021 - BobK - 03-26-2020

It appears Patu has been waiting for this offer. If so and he doesn’t commit soon probably means he’s looking for more

Thompson committted to Oregon last week looks like Moss to uclA.

MCKee ran for like a thousand yards in HS averaging about 10 yards Of that’s not dual treat what is the meaning of dual treat ?

Patu is an ESPN Top 300 recruit and is rated the #6 Dual Threat QB in the nation. 4 Star.

RE: Class of 2021 - Phogge - 03-26-2020

What coach signed Taysom Hill?

RE: Class of 2021 - BobK - 03-27-2020

Harbaugh

RE: Class of 2021 - OutsiderFan - 03-27-2020

I don't care what the label is or was, Tanner McKee is absolutely a dual threat QB.

BC, the question was about Shaw and Harballs. Both Hill and Lloyd were signed. The last running QB before that was Gene Washington.

Hey TC... you of all people should be able to recognize a little bit of smartassedness.  I know Harbaugh signed Hill before his mission and he subsequently reconsidered and went to BYU.  It's too bad, when healthy he was electric.

Very true. Dude does it all. Excited to see what he can do, though he'll presumably need a post-mission RS to get back into football shape.

RE: Class of 2021 - BobK - 03-27-2020

Keep in Mind Hill didn’t go on his mission after HS but the following January. Stanford didn’t and doesn’t allow mid year enrollment

Does Scott Frost count even though he did transfer after Walsh retired?
