May 4 is the scheduled date for the minor leagues to start. However friends went to the As Giants AAA scrimmage last weekend

I don't really understand his appeal, outside of the five straight shutouts.  Career .227 average hitter, career thrown out 27% of base stealers.  Doesn't let many balls get by him (15 PBs over his career), .994 career fielding percentage which is league average.

Odd stat of the day: Giants pitchers are 0 for 30 ABs this season with 17 strikeouts and no walks.

Don’t get so hung up on the numbers.  Casali works effectively with the pitchers, frames pitches well (9th in MLB) and is a positive influence in the clubhouse.  His job is not to be a star hitter.  His job is to support Posey.

I hope Kapler learned something tonight. You don’t pitch your closer up 4 on a back to back.  Why? Cause you don’t have him the next day. And it’s unnecessary wear on his arm. Tonight loss is on Kapler
