Excuse me? Nothing but mad respect for Fullerton and Long Beach, two intermittent powerhouses. This year, Sac State is making waves. Northridge? Let’s wait and see.

Somebody please tell Park that the leadoff hitter is not supposed to swing at the first pitch. Give the rest of the lineup a chance to see a few pitches!

Hey Tony I played at a state college. We never got enough respect and the poster seemed to echo it. In my time we knocked off Top 5 Santa Clara, Cal and Fresno three out of four at home when they were ranked with an All American pitcher. So yeah, I’m sensitive.

No offense to state college systems intended. LB State is ranked. Sac State is ranked. I posted earlier that perhaps Fullerton should be ranked, based on how they pasted us in game two of our series, and the one run victory for us in game one. CSUN is not ranked, and to lose 9-3 based on our pitching and hitting is surprising. Further, as has been posted earlier, Fullerton and LB State have been tough opponents for us. It wasn't too long ago when Fullerton went to CWS at our expense.

Understood. But CSUN has a win over UCLA this season.

Anyone who played Div 1 baseball gets my respect. Sounds like your team was pretty good. Did you make it to the postseason?
BTW I taught economics at CSU East Bay for 37 years.

The Hayward Field in those days was on a mesa with prevailing wind to left the day I pitched against them. Took a hard complete game loss. Your two football coaches (Rodrigo and Tierney) were SF State grads. Rod was my baseball coach and I'll leave it at that.

I believe there's an avenue for a player in Phogge's scenario to be able to enter the next draft.
The rules for NCAA to JUCO transfers are not the same as NCAA to NCAA, specifically it's possible (not automatic) to obtain immediate eligibility at the JUCO. If a player hasn't played for the 4-year school (even if he enrolled) he is very likely to receive immediate eligibility at a JUCO and thus be able to declare for the draft after freshman year.
Could a player commit to Stanford, got though a few weeks of fall workouts, decide he made the wrong decision, transfer to San Joaquin Delta, receive immediate eligibility, declare for the draft after freshman year? it would be unusual but technically possible.
