While the U of Hawaii has released its league schedule there’s nothing on the pre conference schedule yet.

Well done, Bob. You may be amused to learn that I actually went to Bear Insider in search of some open practice trivia to toss back at you…only to discover your footprints right where I was searching! Spain and Croatia sounds like fun, but not in the middle of August.

The 2022 Rainbow Wahini Showdown (at the Univ. of Hawaii's gym) will have its tournament Nov. 25th. 26th. and 27th. but none of the participants have been officially announced. All we know currently is Stanford and Hawaii will be two of the teams. Several top 15 teams have not released their pre-conference schedules, so it's anyone's guess.

Thanks for this. Three games in three days and a chance to spend Thanksgiving in Hawaii. My wife and I are seriously considering giving this a try. Feel free to encourage us or discourage us.

The Athletic publication has just listed their top 15 women's teams for this upcoming season and the key questions for each team. South Carolina is #1, Stanford #2 and UCLA is #12, no other PAC 12 teams listed.

It's an interesting article, tho re Stanford, I think there's limited consideration of some people who may turn out to be key players -- espec. the various guard potentials. Another thing to note in the article, The Athletic n has dropped UConn to #13 after the loss of Paige.

Who do we think the starters will be by the end of the season. I think Jones at PG, Jump at SG and Brink at PF are locks. I think it will likely be Betts at C by the end of the season just because the twin tower combination of Brink and Betts will be so hard to defend. Double Betts and Brink will destroy you and vice versa. The 5th spot is up for grabs. I think it will go to the best 3-point shooter because we need the floor spacing for Betts/Brink and Jones to operate. I think it will be either Demetre or Bosgana. Both are interesting because both can shoot the three and want to score. Demetre is a very good midrange jump shooter and Bosgana is a very good slasher. I think Emma-Nnopu had a shot at the role as well if she can consistently knock down threes as she is likely our best perimeter defender. Prechtel is a good three point shooter as well but I don’t think she can be on the floor with Brink and Betts for defensive reasons, t’s too much size and too little lateral quickness on the perimeter.

Thanks for putting this together! Looks good so far with lots of high quality home games. Will be curious to see if our contract with Texas was renewed. We’d likely play in Austin or instead if we have any top 10-15 road matchups. I like our chances with the home games again SC and Tenn

I encourage you and your wife to go! My wife and I will be there, cheering the team on. I lived in Oahu when I was a kid and want to show my wife the old house- if it's still there, plus Pearl Harbor where (strangely) I never saw during my 3 years there.

While I don't like waiting until nearly Thanksgiving to see my first home game, what a game! And the December schedule at home will be fascinating. Our patience will be taxed until late November, though.
With regard to South Carolina--Tara often does this. I remember a home opener against UConn some time ago. I think her strategy is to start the year with a measuring stick--and a loss is not that harmful (and in some ways helpful) when it occurs early enough. I'm sure we all would prefer a win, and it is not out of the range of possibility. But either way, our team (and especially our frosh) will see immediately what it is going to take to compete at the highest level.

Gonna have to head out to UOP, I think. I can't wait until the 20th!
Sadly, I'm sure I will find Stockton isn't remotely as beautiful as I imagined it to be as a kid. (Not sure where that idea originated!)

Do not have any expectations for Stockton. We went there several years ago for a regional (South Carolina, OSU and FSU were there) and were not impressed.
