Heh. Normally I do the same but since this is such a low-stakes game I’m just treating it as a fun little novelty, knowing roughly what will happen a moment in advance and then seeing how they’re going to call it.

I've gone the other way -- skipping the audio and "watching" the game by watching the live stats.

46-22 at the half.  Anyone worried about “hero ball” should take note that Jones has two shots (she made them both).

Fun halftime interview with Belibi.  She sounds like she wants a fifth year--but ultimately med school.

My stat screen is showing 48.6 percent shooting by the Cardinal at the half.  Still good, but far from 63%.

You are right, that is what mine is showing now.  Wonder what I was looking at.  Perhaps some split score that I can't find now.

Points in the paint:  Stanford 18 Grambling 4.

Grambling has a decent defense but a poor offense, statistically, on the season.

Maybe this is a good game to sit Hannah and let the other guards get time.  We know what Hannah can do and we're playing 3 games in 3 days. I'd like to see more of Bosgana and Demetre.

RE: WBB: Rainbow Wahine Showdown - WBB fan - 11-26-2022

All the starters are getting a lot of rest and the subs are getting good minutes. So far, everyone has played except Stavi and Green, and nearly everyone has scored. Seem to have controlled turnovers better here, but that may reflect who we're playing against.  As said above, our practice sessions may well be more challenging, but it's a good breather for a schedule that's brutal, in terms of # of games in X days.

Sounds like Betts is struggling.  But her stats look pretty good. 8 points and 9 rebounds in 12 minutes.

And now she has a double-double in 13 minutes.

I lost the audio a couple of minutes before the end.  Will miss the post-game interviews I guess.  Pretty shoddy broadcasting situation all around for this tournament, after yesterday's fiasco too.

Yup.

Audio cut out before the end of the game.  We win 87-50.  Glad no apparent injuries.  Hawaii tomorrow on ESPN+/3

RE: WBB: Rainbow Wahine Showdown - 81alum - 11-26-2022

In any case, final Stanford 87 Grambling 50.

How does 48 bench points sound?

Me too, it stopped in the middle of a sentence. In real time the game was over, according to the stats.

Our bench almost outscored their entire team.

RE: WBB: Rainbow Wahine Showdown - WBB fan - 11-26-2022

Final 87-50 -- just barely won the 4th quarter, which appears to have been something of an ugly mess on Stanford's part. At least everyone got to play. And glad to see that Fran was able to score this time. Bosgana also back to life. The subs definitely need playing time to get control of their games. Not watching, hard to tell, but from the live stats, it felt like Brooke and Agnes in particular were pushing, so many missed shots. Wish I could have seen how Betts was playing. The double/double is nice, but she does need to do better with free throws. She's going to get to the line a lot.

RE: WBB: Rainbow Wahine Showdown - 81alum - 11-26-2022

48.5% shooting.  10/26 from three point range.  Jump has to be the player of the game: 19 points in 18 minutes.  Bosgana and Betts continuing to look great!  I wonder what happened to Prechtel, who was 2/2 and doing great (although 2 fouls) but only got 8 minutes.

6 players off the bench had more than 14 minutes:  Nivar, Emma-Nnopu, Bosgana, Demetre, Betts, Harriel.  Keeping the starters rested for the last game in the tournament.

Prechtel took quite a beating against SC.  Give her the rest when possible.  She's earned it.

This must be a feature of these holiday tournaments.  I believe the team played in the Bahamas last year.  FloTV managed to not show the entire first quarter of one game.  IIRC.

Wasn’t last year the food poisoning event?

RE: WBB: Rainbow Wahine Showdown - mbdude - 11-26-2022

Jump, bosgana, prechtel were 9 of 12 from 3
Nivar, Demetri, nnopu, harriel 1 of 13

That pretty well sorts out who should be shooting 3s.  Prechtel and Bosgana went 4 for 5.  Fantastic!
