Not only all this, but insinuating that Tara was racist during the Black Lives Matter movement.. she can’t have it both ways, bad mouth Stanford and coaches and then want to be affiliated with Stanford. She is the only Stanford player I do not support.

She transferred (with some unknown but fairly obvious conflict with Tara and/or Stanford) and she identifies her college as Baylor. If she identifies as a Baylor alum, I don't see any reason that we should claim her as our own. I think it is extremely disingenuous of her when she occasionally claims that she is being dissed when she identifies as a Baylor alum not a Stanford alum. She made her choice. I don't think we need to look any deeper than that for Stanford moving on.

Was great to see Tara in Vegas to watch Cam Brink in her game against the Aces. Hopefully now in retirement, she will have more time to get to games. I'd expect we see her at some Valkyries games in the near future.

Watching last night's game (Fever @ Sparks), couple things that made me HOWL with laughter:
1) Lexie committed a NASTY foul on Jewel Loyd.
2) Cam putting up block after block to hold on to the win for the Sparks.

In what context does Dijonai identify "her college" as Baylor? Her social media shows both schools. Totally normal for someone who earned degrees at two different schools. Link:
Dijonai's Instagram Account
Tiger Woods and Sophia Smith each only competed at Stanford for 2 years and Stanford has no problem claiming them. Like Kiki, Dijonai completed her Stanford degree before she transferring. I don't understand treating an athlete as "persona non-Stanford" based on their choice of grad school.
Also, Harvard had no problem claiming McKenzie Forbes when she was drafted by the Sparks. Forbes is a Harvard grad, end of story. It doesn't matter that she attended USC for grad school.

true, but that's not dijonai identifying her college as baylor, it's the formatting of the wnba website. if you check the chicago sky website for angel reese, you'll see only lsu mentioned, not her previous college, maryland. i don't see why stanford has to follow the wnba's website formatting and mention only the last college attended.
as stated above, dijonai mentions stanford before baylor in her own bio on instagram. as i understand the question raised, it's
could stanford mention dijonai. seems like a yes to me if dijonai mentions stanford. and, yes, omitting her seems like adding insult to injury (knee injury, benching her in favor of haley, and not leaving a slot for her to stay on the roster).

No mention of Stanford… except for the 42 lines of text in the College Career portion of the About DiJonai section in her linked WNBA bio.
I’m not sure why the hostility toward her for leaving, when it seemed really clear she wasn’t going to get the opportunities at Stanford for her final year that she got at Baylor. And at least her departure wasn’t obviously going to be a massive blow to the following year’s team, like a certain departure this year will be…

triangle2 - 05-24-2024
I recall at the time that in the immediate aftermath of Carrington’s injury, it wasn’t expected to be season ending, and the coaches seemed to think she’d be back in the lineup pretty quickly. As the season progressed and Carrington had not returned, I remember seeing her on the sidelines in street clothes looking oddly disconnected from the team. At times, she seemed to be displaying bad attitude.
As the season progressed, the coaches’ statements on her situation got more and more circumspect and at times, brusque. We may never know the real story about what happened, but it seemed fairly obvious that Carrington was unhappy both about her playing time and how she was being used, i.e. that she wasn’t being allowed to feature on offense. Carrington had that Jordan Poole-like ability to hit ridiculous shots AND make Jordan Poole-like turnovers. My observation at the time was that she was on a fairly short leash compared to, say, Kiana Williams, who didn’t get benched when she was having a bad shooting night. I infer that Carrington figured out that she could take a redshirt injury year and transfer somewhere where her offensive style would be a better match, and that decision burned some bridges with the coaches.
It’s a weird situation. I appreciate that the Stanford coaches are very tight-lipped about internal problems and don’t broadcast them as we’ve seen in other programs. So, at times, you have to interpret the silence accordingly.

Well, if they played for Stanford and graduated from Stanford, *I'm* counting them. And to that end, this WNBA season seems to be a banner year for our women - I can't ever recall so many Stanford Alumna succeeding at once in the WNBA. By my count, we've had starters on
seven WNBA teams (Nneka in Seattle, Brink in LA, Alanna Smith in Minnesota, Haley Jones in Atlanta, Karlie Samuelson in DC, Carrington in Connecticut, and Hull in and out of the starting lineup in Indiana). Terrific to see so many of our players flourishing, especially those who had journeywomen experiences early in their pro careers.

yesterday fever vs sparks, clark 11 points brink 15 points. of course clark did have 2 ridiculous long-range shots.
wnba leaders in blocks are cam and alanna smith tied at 3.7 per game each. next best is aja wilson with 2.7

Was fortunate to be at that game in person. Cam had terrific first and fourth quarters, where she played within herself and was changing the game on both ends. I sense her being a little more calm and controlled than at Stanford, probably because the caliber of her teammates is higher, and she doesn't feel like she has to do as much. When she trusts her teammates, she's just such an impact player. But I sensed her getting frustrated in the second and third quarters, and Old Brink was back, committing dumb fouls and trying to do too much. But man is she fun to watch, and she's easily the Sparks' most popular player, already, by a mile, based on fan response.
As for the rest of the team, Rickea Jackson is a bucket. In the first quarter she was playing a little out of control (she racked up three fouls pretty quickly), but then calmed down and was really steady the rest of the way. She and Cam are both so disruptive on both ends and a lot of fun to watch together. And Hamby is just a stud, hands down. Man is she a pro's pro. Unfortunately, the Sparks guards just weren't cutting it, and I think they really let the forwards down with mediocre distribution and a lot of lazy (and ineffective) outside shooting.
And I'll say this: the CC show is a show. Place was packed, rowdy, and by far the best, loudest vibe I've ever seen for a women's game. I'll give her credit for that. But man, does she whine a lot. Gets tiresome after a while. But all credit to her, she's bringing in a ton of new fans to the game, and they seem to like what they're seeing.

Cam continues to shine in the WNBA, despite a couple of recent no so great games. And fouls are still a major issue, but if she can at last figure that out, she's going to be a star for a long time. So happy to see another Stanford grad do so well. And the pundits are giving her lots of kudos. Here's latest from ESPN, which as of an article today, ranks Cam as the #1 rookie (based on what seems to me an incomprehensible convoluted rating method)
