You know what -- if you want to be a good team, you have to be able to defend against the pass.  It's been a couple years now.

Big penalty there. Our line keeps needing to bail out our defensive backs.

Re: End of 1st Q: Stanford 3, Wash. State 0 - Cardinal96 - 10-27-2012

Well that was about an ugly win as you can have.  Tuel really outplayed Nunes.  We were very fortunate to survive with a W.  WSU outplayed us for most of that game.

Anderson straight up punched Tuel on the ground after that sack. I dunno if it was on purpose (doubt it) but it was nasty, right to the jaw. Great play otherwise.

The value of this WSU game is that it is the great expectations-manager.  It has managed my expectations.

I don't know if it was a "punch" or not, but it was quite odd.

Remember this game came after three really, really intense games, including two against high-quality opponents. Some letdown was inevitable.

So, I'm not ready to say the OSU game is unwinnable just yet. (And, yeah, at Colorado is still an automatic W)

WSU also played tough against OSU...

But enough grasping at straws. That really, really sucked. I'm not sure if that was the most terrifying of the close squeezes, but goddamn that was close. Too many. Figure this shit out.

OSU is nothing special.  That is definitely a winnable game.

This approach doesn't make sense to me.  You get 60 minutes of play to demonstrate if you're a good team or not.  I don't think there are great effects from previous games that influence us.  And if there are, that is just not being a good team.
