Whoops ok my guess the next trivia question.
Who was the first Afro American 20 game winner in the American League ?

I think it was Newcombe, who was 20-9 in 1951, his third year as an all star.

Jones lost 20 in 1955.  He was 14-20, but made the all star team.  He won 21 in 1959 (was 21-15, his second all star year).

Mudcat Grant was the first African American pitcher in the American League to win 20, with a 21-7 record.

Fergie Jenkins had the most 20 win seasons (7) of all African American pitchers.

Who was the last African American pitcher to win 20 games?

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 07-19-2021

Newcombe first to 20 in NL.
Sam Jones first no hitter by AA pitcher. 1955.

Why did Newcombe retire? What happened to his career after he retired from MLB?

Last AA pitcher to win 20? Sabbathia?
