Phogge check out Elmer Valo

The same question Giants answered change to just one no hitter.  There are two to add??

Jim Palmer?   I think Seaver only won one championship.  I know he tossed only one no hitter.  So, no Seaver.  I am out of guesses.

RE: Sports trivia thread - BobK - 07-20-2021

Palmer yes

Bob Gibson is the 4th

What number or numbers have been retired by the most MLB teams (excluding #42, retired by MLB)?
What was the highest jersey number to have been retired?
Six numbers have been un-retired by a team.  Who? What number? What team?
What number has been retired twice by the same team (also, an answer to the previous question)?
Who was the first Giant to have his number retired?
What is the only team in MLB not to have retired a jersey number (excluding #42 again)?

Who got the first hit in the first regular season game played at the LA Coliseum?

Wally Moon.

RE: Sports trivia thread - DC 86 - 07-21-2021

Who is the only MVP who was never an all-star?

Who are the only three Cy Young award winners who were never all-stars?

RE: Sports trivia thread - Phogge - 07-22-2021

First hit in the Coliseum... Jim Davenport. First batter too.

What Dodger hurt his arm trying to throw a ball from the field over the top of the Coliseum?

DC, sorry to be a nerd (like another trivia buff) but Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Walter Johnson and others were MVP's before the All Star game was organized by Arch Ward.

I assume the question means since the AS game era.

Rogers Hornsby? Willie Hernandez?

Yes I should have been more specific, but I meant the league MVP awards as voted on by the BBWAA, which started in 1931. I was not considering winners of previous incarnations such as the Chalmers awards and the league awards for "all-around service to his club".

Not Hornsby since his last MVPs were prior to the BBWAA era. Hernandez was a three-time all-star.
