Yep. That was a great article. I think it would be a good idea to have the Giants and Braves play a Field of Dreams game there, particularly since several of the best Alabama-born guys played for those teams (Mays, Aaron, McCovey, Bruton).

I would guess the “oldest” is determined by the status of the original grandstand. It is still intact in Birmingham. Vermont’s grandstand was destroyed by fire in 1913.

World's oldest continuously used baseball field is apparently Labatt Park (f/k/a Tecumsen Park, 1877-1936) in London, Ontario in the Great White North. Not oldest structure, just oldest baseball grounds. Opened on May 3, 1877. Renovated in 1883, 1937, 1950s, 1989, 2001.

DIdn't Adam Dunn have an epic strikeout season a few years ago? Regardless, given the move to three true outcomes, I'm guessing the record is recent. Pre-2000 it has to be someone from the 60's. Maybe Bobby Bonds' 69 season?
