I wonder if Caitlin Clark is keeping her grades up at Iowa. She might want to win a National Championship before she ends her college career. In a couple of years she could be a grad transfer to a school with a legendary coach and a team loaded with talent.

I like Clark a lot but I'm not sure I see her as a good fit for Tara. Clark plays a *lot* of hero ball, sometimes effectively, sometimes ineffectively. IMHO, it's the same kind of play (but better) that Lili Thompson and Dijonai Carrington engaged in, and that we know Tara was not always a fan of.
Our team is working now because we work so effectively as a team. I know Clark is very team oriented in her spirit and she's hardly a ball hog. But she does try to force a lot of stuff where there wasn't a play and she just kind of improvises instead.

The second-best example of women team basketball played this weekend after the Stanford Women was exhibited by Princeton, which indicates to this unformed observer of basketball that any transfer from Princeton could be a very good fit.

I assumed she'd grad transfer. IIRC, since the Ivy League doesn't allow grad fifth-years and they didn't allow an extra COVID year, she has no choice but to grad transfer to use a fifth year of NCAA eligibility.
And FWIW, fans of lots of teams are salivating over her, including, interestingly, UConn.

Princeton coach is a uconn grad and former player.

The UConn excitement over her is ironic in that now they claim the quality of grad school isn’t as important as undergrad so no need for her to go to a great grad school. When they target high school players they argue the reverse.

it's promising that abby meyers is looking to grad transfer. she would not get much playing time at uconn with bueckers and azzi ahead of her. then again, jordan hamilton didn't get much playing time at stanford.
the uconn board discussion mentions (speculates?) that she had academic trouble. if so, that would likely eliminate stanford. she did take a year off from school, but i can't find the reason.
one can hope.

There's a long story about that somewhere - IIRC she had an alleged honor code violation in her freshman year, and her experience going through that process was that she had no representation, limited due process, little clarification of her rights, and felt shamed into it and that resulted in a year's suspension. Once she returned, her experience led her to become a student advocate who works with students who receive such allegations, and she has spoken out publicly about the need to reform these procedures in light of her experience.
Based on the interview I read (wherever it was), she sounded like a very thoughtful individual, and having traveled in a lot of academic circles myself this past decade, I can certainly relate to the feeling that administrations can set up kangaroo courts for students when they want to. Not sure how that whole experience reflects on her GPA, but Princeton's no walk in the cake even for student athletes, because there's far less grade inflation there than at its peer schools (as I'm sure proud Princeton Papa x2 Mick can attest.).

The PG from LA Kaitlyn Chen finished her 1 season for Princeton very strong... She's not exceptionally strong or athletic, but I wonder if Stanford looked at her.
Wouldn't mind another Northwestern grad transfer if it was guard Veronica Burton (18 ppg isn't bad for a two-time conference Defensive POY), who is also Academic All-American, but it sounds like she will not use the "covid year" as she could be a high WNBA draft pick.

well, then she certainly knows stanford well. does anyone remember posts about recruiting her? if she "chose princeton over stanford," that might imply that we even offered her.

Burton would be a wonderful way to help Tara get over the Hull parents not having a third Hull daughter she could recruit! =) She is really exactly what we'd need on D, and her ability to get to the basket would be great on offense too. I've definitely worried about our transition offense once the Hulls and Wilson graduate.

Remember while fans hope we are recruiting Burton and or Myers they have
Want to get into Stanford grad school and be admitted and not much Tara and staff can do about it

Burton will forgo her covid year option entirely for the WNBA it seems.
I remember Meyers being a recruit for Stanford back in c/o 2017. I believe she ended her recruitment in picking Princeton well before Kiana, Maya, Estelle, Alyssa, and other dominoes fell. Think she was a stud soccer player too and might've been "Abigail" back then, probably some posts on her on the other board.
