A lot actually. Until our snub last year, all top 4 RPI teams in the Super Regional era received a top 8 seed. Inching up to 5th is a good development, on top of the quality road series win.

Stanford gets past a tough Seattle team to finish up the Washington road trip 3-1. Regan Krause with a solid start, nearly going the distance and only giving up 3 runs. Cardinal win 5-3.

Far too much. It's a terrible rating system, but the softball committee has a history of adhering to it fairly closely. (Baseball somewhat less so. Basketball developed NET after finally realizing how bad rpi is).
But, as of this moment Stanford is up to #4 in rpi. Have wins against rpi #1, #6, #8, #19x3, #21x2, #23x2

Stanford eases past Oregon 7-3 by scoring 7 unanswered runs to pull away. Aly Kaneshiro, Jade Berry and Taryn Kern all hit home runs to power the Cardinal offense. Regan Krause with a fantastic relief appearance, posting a shutout in 5 innings of work.

A surprise, but Stanford was able to get NiJaree even more rest while still picking up the W. A critical win (and series win) that keeps Stanford in the hunt for a top 8 seed. Oklahoma State has picked up a stunning series win in Norman against 3 time defending national champion Oklahoma, and Florida has won its series against Texas A&M, so they have emerged as even more competition for a top seed for Stanford. Cardinal's slim hopes of a Pac-12 regular season title still alive, though UCLA would have to lose twice to last place Arizona State to even give Stanford a chance at winning the crown.

Lost yesterday but on to the pac 12 or 9 tournament at Stanford. Play in game weds then Thursday 4 games with Stanford Cal at 12:30

Stanford will play Cal in the quarterfinals, followed by a potential matchup against either Oregon or Utah in the semis if the Cardinal can win at home. By losing yesterday, I actually think Stanford has a more favorable path to the Pac-12 Tourney Championship (though I would argue winning Sunday would have still been better from a top 8 seed perspective, aside from the obvious motivation to aspire to strive for winning every time out). If Stanford had won (and by extension Oregon had lost), Stanford and Washington would be on the same side of the bracket. Now, UCLA gets the winner of Washington and Arizona.

Stanford wins its quarterfinal matchup on the Farm 4-2. Stanford takes advantage of 2 costly Cal errors to score 4 unearned runs. NiJaree Canady had to deal with another tight strike zone, giving up an uncharacteristic 6 walks, but she also had 10 strikeouts, and only gave up 2 unearned runs. Stanford once again fell for a 1st and 3rd double steal (they lost to Oregon on that same play 1-0 on Sunday).
Stanford will face Utah in the semifinals as the Utes upset Oregon with a game deciding HR in the 7th inning.

Did anyone watching the game today think that Níjaree’s problem today was a tight strike
zone?
Or an unusual lack of command?

I did watch the game today. The Pac-12 broadcasters, who are generally loath to criticize the conference umpiring, were commenting how tight the zone was. But if others felt differently, I totally understand that perspective too. I actually thought Aly Kaneshiro, the catcher, did not have her best game. There were multiple passed balls in the game (one led to the first run), and then Stanford gives up the double steal for the second (and the run that scored on the double steal only scored because of the second passed ball).

Just watched recording and I'd say both.

I was at the game. The strike zone seemed wide away from left handed hitters. Sadly Canady was unusually wild.
Fortunately Canady was tough when she had to be. I sit behind home plate
big time clutch 2 run single by Kern

Who is starting tomorrow? I presume Regan will start, but just wondering. Watched Utah/Oregon game and we can't take them lightly. We can't continue giving up runs we shouldn't.
