Well, IMO, the really good players (the Sarah Strongs of this world) know they are going to play wherever they go, so they pick winning schools like Yukon. Those are they type of people we should be going after. If we can't get them, then I don't see a problem leaving a spot or two on the roster open so we can take advantage of some of the good players who will be in the transfer portal at the end of the year.
So to answer the question, I would think having the #3 class in 2025 should help in recruiting the type of players we should be going after in 2026.

I don’t think recruits think of classes, I think they are more concerned with who is there who plays their position. So I think it would be hard for us to recruit a point guard in 2026 because we have Swain. Somfai can play the 4 or 5 so I could see a top post seeing themselves playing with her. Our biggest need is big athletic wings who can defend and score (either drive or shoot the three or both).

If you missed the game, you didn't miss much, at least as far as the Stanford recruits were concerned. They were a combined 4-17 shooting. Eschmeyer was in for a grand total of 6 minutes.
The stars of the game? Betts and Davidson of course.
The rich are definitely getting richer. The top players are going to places like South Carolina, UCLA, and USC. Interestingly enough, no mention of any Yukon recruits.

Wanted to share this clip of former director of the Illinois Department of Public Health Dr. Ngozi Ezike reflecting on her role during Covid I saw on Instagram:

Thought of another "Ezike" from Illinois...and sure enough it's incoming freshman Nora Ezike's mom <3

sirgi seems like a project, but then you can't teach height
carter on the other hand looks a lot like hailee swain. she does have offers from a lot of top basketball schools, but also has an offer from harvard, so maybe stanford could be a match.

We are going to be competing with all the heavyweights for her. U$C, UCLA, Yukon, SoCal, ND, God knows who else. They will be throwing NIL money at her like it was water. Well, hope for the best.

c/o 2028 rankings
https://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/rankings/_/class/2028
Jhaliana Guy at #19, the only committed player of the list.
Reece Gilpatrick #12, Maliyah Hunter #18, Sydney Douglas #2.
As an aside, I love #4 6'4" Ella Peper from Dexter School in Massachusetts. She looks like the "unicorn" of the class on video, think Elena Delledonne. No mention of Stanford offer tho

Thanks, Bob. Any idea how good the 247 rankings are?
I'm getting antsy about so many 2026 offers and no commits yet.
