Kevin Jordan, Lowell HS, last MLB game in 2001, played 564 games with the Phillies, super utility infielder, occasional DH.

I don't know who technically started it, but overrated mediocrities Carroll Williams and Dick Davey both killed it. Loved Carroll Williams. Takes over SCU's basketball program, fresh after three consecutive 1st place league finishes, ranked as high as third in the national and on the cover of SI, then coaches SCU 23 straight years without a single league championship. Bravo, Carroll.

Art Santo Domingo founded the Cable Car Classic. Heck, I am so old, I saw Bob Knight coach Army in a “Classic” game.

1) Trick question. It was High Pockets Kelly who attended Mission and Lowell and dropped out to sign a pro contract. Points for Mick as Koenig ended his career with the Giants and to Bobbbbb for Dirty Al who attended SI and graduated from Mission. First SF Giant from San Francisco.
2) Bobb for naming Kezar Pavillio and the Cow Palace.
3) USF played in the Cable Car but Art Santo Domingo was the founder (Bobbbb). Not Santa Clara SID but director of the Giants PR department at the time of the founding of the tourney. Much later he turned it over to SCU.
4) Venturi and Miller. Jack Burke Jr went to school in Fort Worth. The other Lincoln Mustang was Bob Lunn.
5) DiMaggio Playground was initially called North Beach and the feature I was looking for was the concrete diamond where DiMaggio and others often slid.

Aaarggghhhh…. I did not notice that Bob replied with Art Santo Domingo as the founder of the CCC. Speaking of the PGA, where did George Archer attend HS? (I do not know).

I watched a couple games at North Beach and was amazed how those kids had perfected the flat-footed slide on concrete in sneakers.
