Has anyone heard about us recruiting Emily Bessoir? She is a 2020 6’4” SF from Germany. Seems to be a good shooter. They talk about her on both the UConn and Oregon recruiting boards. She seems to have good grades and mentioned something about Stanford being her dream school in an article.

Here's an article from a European scouting service which describes her as "UConn good"

At a recent chalk talk a coach was asked about recruiting from overseas and gave a great explanation of how difficult it is because of our English reading writing speaking requirements. And the resulting tests.
Of course if Dad is an American .....

Last year we had a German exchange student who spoke better English than most of my family. Won the English department award at our HS. So here's hoping she wasn't an outlier. I got the impression that German gymnasium is pretty rigorous and she found our HS easy.

Bob, there's no Manning on your list. Is that a new prospect, or did you mean Marshall?

That was Archie Manning thru a back channel trying to buy the H-man from Plunkett.

i looked to see how she did in the fiba under-17 worlds in france last summer, where she would have met haley; but it appears germany did not qualify. the teams from europe were france, spain, italy and belarus. it appears from the video that germany just came in 2nd in the fiba european championships, so maybe emily will be in the worlds this coming summer.

BobK, should we add Alyssa Ustby to our prospective recruits list for 2020? Her playing style sounds like a slightly taller, more forward-oriented version of Mikayla Pivec, and also very similar to the Hulls. Apparently she has a Stanford offer(?), along with a 3.9 GPA:

Agree 2006. I read the story and will add her.
However at this point with 2 openings we have Marshall and Kelly visiting ???? Daniels who we have visited and Brueckers is there room.
Or will we have 5 openings. Stay tunned

Five openings? That would mean one of our current sophomores or frosh might be leaving, or else one of our incoming recruits is reconsidering? I'd be immensely surprised about the latter, so is there some reason to think one of our underclassmen is reconsidering either basketball or Stanford?
