Lots of teams can lose, including Stanford, but I don't think they will.
If Utah can keep their 2nd tier big free of foul trouble, they can go far in NCAAs. They can really shoot, and now they realize it.

Brink has 10 points in 10 minutes of play, but strangely only 1 rebound.

Did you see they focused on big bro when No 3 went down? He was ready to come down there.

17 point lead with 5:54 to play. Send in the subs. Don't get our starters hurt.

Up 21 with 4:45 to play. Empty the bench. All seniors should get on the floor. What a team!
Wilson just shut down Kneepkins, who has just 3 points for the game on 1-6 shooting. Wilson is such a weapon on this team. She has now made herself a 3 point threat and is deadly with mid-range jumpers.

Looked like Anna got hit in the head by the ball as her shot was blocked. Good to see she felt okay after a minute and stayed in the game. I always cross my fingers she doesn't get another concussion.

Hooray, great, great finish. Now, on to the big dance.
And BTW, longest D-1 winning streak in the country.. -- at least among top 25

That was a great defensive effort today and the entire tournament. Utah averaged 77 points a game. Today they scored 48. That’s the focus and intensity needed to compete in the NCAAs.

Some great stats for our team in this Pac-12 championship game.
41 rebounds, 18 assists, only 6 turnovers, 46/42/70 shooting, holding the highest scoring team in the Pac-12 to 48 points.

Second half: Stanford 41 UT 18. Fourth Q 21-5. Defense comes through bigtime.
Brink finished with 16 points in 18 minutes.

Apparently Tara was generous with her advice to Coach Lyn Roberts, and it shows, Utah had a great year! I suspect, though, that Tara withheld the advice about how to beat the Card!?

What a fabulous game! I was getting worried by the end of the first half but Tara got them to kick it into another gear coming out for the second half.
It would be easy to focus on the great offense from Brink, Jones, and Lexi, but consider that our defense held the conference's best offense to 18 points in the second half. Utah's two fab freshmen scored 2 and 3 points for the game. Utah shot only 32% and made only 17 baskets. Probably the best defensive game we've played this year, considering the opponent.
Also notable was our ball handling--only 6 TOs for the game. And our passing--18 assists on 29 made baskets.
And Jones hitting 3/4 from three point range. That will give future opponents something more to worry about.
Tara finishing it off with what Andy Landers called a "classy" interview. Just as expected.
I am proud of this team.
Happy birthday Kate!
