A new position. As the position is spelled out I love it

As I took a break from cleaning this evening, I stumbled across one of Shannon Coffee's finest games on Youtube. While it's not the whole game, I still remember how Shannon just absolutely nailed it in helping us beat Baylor a few times in her career.

I’m not a big fan of dunks, but it would get people talking if we had, say, 3 or more players who dunked during a game. Or at least in warm ups

I believe that we have at least three players who could dunk in warm ups, but probably only Belibi can (and has) do it in a game. You better Belib it!

Forgot about Betts, but the three I was thinking of were Prechtel, Belibi, and Iriafen. Not sure if Brink has dunked.

It will be interesting to see what Tara does with Brink when she picks up her 1st foul. In the past, it seemed that this meant an automatic seat on the bench. Even as last year's team leading scorer, Brink still only played 22 minutes a game. Does Brink get more leeway as an experienced player who can dominate the game on both ends? Or does she still get the quick hook?
The posts (excluding Jones) need to be working on their FT shooting. Brink last year - 61%. Belibi - 61%. Iriafen - 56%, Prechtel - 43%. Marginal improvement here can yield big results.

I agree with you that marginal FT improvement would indeed have a significant impact in games; especially against top opponents. What the challenge is replicating a smooth release of the ball that goes into the net, not just in practice, but in games. For whatever reasons, that replication of the desired release is not consistent. Could there be distractions? Most amazed that Brink (who appears to have very good form) only managed 61%.
Sure hope I'm wrong on this, but I think Tara will continue to pull Brink (even if she is dominating) the moment she gets that first foul.

Given that for now 35 years Tara has pulled the player who got their first foul almost always bet you are right. :)

And when your other options are Belibi, Iriafen or Betts then yes you are going to get pulled.

may i make a friendly amendment? my sense is that tara usually pulls a starter when she gets one foul in the first quarter and when she gets a second foul in the second quarter. she often leaves a starter in the game when she gets her first foul in the 2nd or 3rd quarter - at least if it's a good foul (or bad call by the ref).
imo it's not usually punishment but rather planning ahead so the player doesn't foul out. sometimes she will pull a starter for a "dumb" 1st foul in the 2nd quarter - say, a reach-in foul in the back court when we're not in a full-court press - but that's not the most common reason she sits a starter. the subs, on the other hand, do seem to be on a short leash.
