Yes, there is a catcher on the list. He ranks 3rd in career HBPs. But it's not Freehan. This catcher played in the 1990s and 2000s, mostly in the National League, with a stop in Oakland as well.

Frank Robinson didn't make the top 5, but he was 7th in career HBPs with 198.

So far, the career HBP list (since 1901) is:

285 Craig Biggio
267 ???
254 ???
243 Ron Hunt
207 ???
204 Chase Utley
198 Frank Robinson

Gary Carter?

Danny Ainge? Heck, if I were pitching, I'd have hit the little whiner every time.

Fred Kendall

Manny Sanguillen?

Jason Kendall is correct. He's the catcher on the list. He had 254 career HBPs.

That leaves two more players. One played in the 1970s and 1980s with the Orioles, Angels, and several other teams. He's a former MVP. He later became a manager, leading two teams in the 1990s and early 2000s. The other one is an active player who recently passed Chase Utley on this list. He's now in the American League, but he spent the majority of his career with the Cubs, where he made several All-Star teams.

Five current Giants are on the Top 1000 Career HBP list. Name them.

Six former Giants who are currently playing for other teams are on the Top 1000 Career HBP list. Name them.

Ah, but Joc's not on the current roster. . . .I simply went with the oldest Giants, and figured they'd have to be in there somewhere. . . .

RE: Sports trivia thread 2023 (split in May 2023) - Giants - 05-29-2023

Rich Hill (scheduled starter v. SF today) was initially selected in 1999 in the 36th Round by Cincinnati.  I believe he is the only player still playing who was drafted in the 1990’s.

Who is the most notable player drafted that year?  (clue: 13th Round)

Who did the Giants select in Round 1 that year? (clue: he won 6 games for the Giants in his career)

This Hall of Fame pitcher allowed a record of just 6.6 hits per 9 innings.
Yet never won a Cy Young

Who is he and no not a pitcher pre Cy Young award
