The US Women's Amateur is being held this week at the Honors Course in Ooltewah, TN, near Chattanooga. Megha Ganne is the defending champion but she has since turned pro.
The past, present and future of Stanford women's golf is represented. Alumna Rachel Heck is in the field along with incoming frosh Jude Lee, junior-to-be Leigh Chien, and commits Asterisk Talley, Aphrodite Deng and Clairey Lin.
Today is the final round of stroke play qualifying. After today, the low 64 players advance to match play.
Lin is currently T3 and has completed her round
Talley is T7 but plays later in the day
Deng is T7 and has completed her round
Lee is T30 and has completed her round
Heck is in the clubhouse at T69 but most of the field is still to play. She will continue to move up the leaderboard as players fall behind her on the tough course. Heck has a very good shot at making match play.
Chien is the only player who is not in the running for match play at T133.

And as you probably also noticed, none of Stanford's 4 European players is in the field. I think they use the summer to spend time with friends and family and play closer to home, maybe get some rest too, before returning to the US for the start of fall quarter.

Sampedro tied for 29th at 4 over par at the AIG Women's British Open and was low amateur for the second year in a row, and an MSN article confirms: "Sampedro plans to take off the rest of the summer before heading back to Stanford for her senior year. The No. 2-ranked amateur in the world, Sampedro was one of only two amateurs to make the cut, joined by South Korea's Yunseo Yang (T-54)."

5 Stanford affiliated golfers made the field of 64 for match play of the US Women's Amateur.
Jude Lee (frosh), Rachel Heck (alum) and commits Aphrodite Deng, Asterisk Talley and Clairey Lin.
The draw has placed Deng (7th ranked amateur in the world), Talley (8th) and Lin (56th) all in the same quarter of the bracket along with Farah O'Keefe (4th and the highest ranked amateur in the field) and Vanessa Borovilos (17th). Whichever player makes it out of this quarter to reach the semifinals will have run a gauntlet.
Lee is playing Ella Scaysbrook who made it to the semifinals of last year's national amateur before losing to Megha Ganne.
Heck is playing Anna Davis, a 2 time All American from Auburn.
Edit update - I missed that Anna Fang, another Stanford commit, is also in the field of 64.

#61 Heck is 2 up over #4 Davis thru 9. I'm sure Davis is wondering why the heck she got matched up in the first round with this former Women's Amateur semifinalist and NCAA individual champion.

Neat feature on the leaderboard: at least for the earlier completed matches, you can watch the pair's shots on some individual holes, with the broadcast commentators heard along with the video

Lee lost 3 and 2. She was all square through 12 then bogeyed 3 of the final 4 holes.
Heck won 1 up
Fang won 2 and 1
There was a weather delay of several hours so they will run out of daylight before all matches are completed. As of 7:30 eastern,
Talley is 4 up with 4 to play
Deng is 1 up with 5 to play
Lin is 1 up with 7 to play
Tomorrow will be a very long day. The plan is to play the rounds of 32 and 16. So they will probably start the round of 32 matches even as the round of 64 matches are being completed. Oh and once again the forecast is for thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Golf Channel will have live coverage from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm eastern.

What Heck is doing is amazing. She has a full time job and is a part-time golfer. She is from Tennessee and the home state fans are cheering her on.

Some updates.
Rachel Heck’s journey ended in the round of 16, losing 2-up to Pimchompoo Chaisilprungruang from Thailand.
Clairey Lin lost in 19 holes in the round of 16 to Maggie (Jiayi) Ma. Lin was 1-up with 1 hole to go, but Ma birdied the 18th and the extra hole to win the match.
Asterisk Talley Won her round of 16 match against Australian Rachel Lee 3 and 2, then won her quarterfinal match in 19 today by birdying the 19th hole against Ma. She had been 3 holes up with three to play, and Ma almost pulled off an even more impressive comeback, going birdie-eagle-birdie in the last three holes to tie it. Impressive fight by Ma, but great job by Talley to not get rattled and win it in 19.
Talley will play Lily Peng, a UCLA commit from San Ramon, in the semi-finals.
