When Brock Purdy makes his fifth pass tomorrow night, he will be the all-time NFL leader for passer rating (minimum 1,500 passes). Purdy's career passer rating is 105.4 currently.

One NFL team has the most quarterbacks on the NFL Top 50 Career Passer Rating list with seven. Three more teams are tied with three.  11 teams have two. 12 teams have just one quarterback on the all-time top 50 career passer rating list.

Trivia questions:

1. Which is the only team that has seven QBs on the list of 50, and list the QBs?
2. Which three teams have three QBs on the list of 50? (that's the next level down).
3. Five teams have zero quarterbacks on the list. Who are they?

1, when was the last time that five of the top seven ranked teams all lost in college football?

2. When was the last time that Alabama, Georgia, and Texas all lost on the same day?

1. I don't think that ever happened. I seem to recall that five of the top eight teams all lost on one day. But I don't think five of the top seven ranked teams ever lost on the same day.

2. Alabama, Georgia and Texas all losing on the same day? I would guess when either DuBose or Shula coached Alabama, Mack Brown coached Texas, and no idea who coached Georgia. Best guess, a quarter-century ago.

Trivia questions:

1. Which is the only team that has seven QBs on the list of 50, and list the QBs?  San Francisco 49ers
#1, Brock Purdy, 105.4 (when he joins, the man I think of as the best QB -- Otto Graham -- comes off the list at #51)
#10, Jimmy Garoppolo, 97.6
#15, Steve Young, 96.8
#28, Joe Montana, 92.3
#39, Colin Kaepernick, 88.9
#45, Jeff Garcia, 87.5
#49, Alex Smith, 86.9 (incidentally, Mac Jones is T49, but gets listed with the Patriots)

2. Which three teams have three QBs on the list of 50? (that's the next level down).
Cincinnati Bengals (#4 Joe Burrow, 101.3; Carson Palmer #42, 87.9; and Andy Dalton #46, 87.4)
Houston Texans (#8 Deshaun Watson, 98.5; #22 CJ Stroud, 94.0; #37 Matt Schaub, 89.5)
Minnesota Vikings (#14 Kirk Cousins, 96.9; #33 Teddy Bridgewater, 90.3; #43 Daunte Culpepper, 87.8)

3. Five teams have zero quarterbacks on the list. Who are they?
Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders.

Pretty good.  That five of the top 7 ranked teams have never lost in the same week end!  And the last time Georgia, Alabama, and Texas all lost in the same 24-hour period was back in 1996.  I believe back then Nick Saban was still coaching at Michigan State.  In fact, I know he was, because he was on the losing end of a thrashing at the hands of none other than Tyrone Willingam's Stanford Cardinal in the Sun Bowl.
