One would think that if the coaches are offering a player a scholarship this late in the recruiting cycle they must be pretty darn sure his grades/scores etc. are a very safe bet for admission. This could be a very nice pickup in light of the disappointment with David Long, though I noticed that Ohio State also offered him, so we have some competition.Â

His schools of interest include Stanford, Duke, Rice, Harvard, and Vanderbilt. He also lists a number of football factories. He wants to get a good education and compete at a high level. It shouldn't be hard to flip him, unless he is adamant about staying close to home, attending school with a girl friend, or always wanted to play for Texas.

- WR Robertson
- WR Stewart
- CB Eboh
- OL Powell
- TE Kaufusi
- WR Croom (no offer)
- WR Sanders (no offer)
Given how many guys are considering Stanford and waiting on admissions, it sure is curious what is going on. There are now 19 commits and 8 commit-able offers. My guess is in part due to Hooper and Rector leaving, this class could get to the full 25. I wonder what Shaw does if he has more commits on offers than space available?

Powell doesn't have an offer, Kaufusi is a mission candidate, and Robertson isn't coming, so that scrambles your categories a bit.

Eboh, Carmouche, and Swann might be the best trio of Plan B recruits in the 15 years I've followed Stanford recruiting. Those guys are really good football players!

Stewart's admission combined with Crawford's Michigan commitment makes Stewart a Stanford lock now, IMO.
Kaufusi may be LDS, but he's still going to be counted in the 2016 class (along with Fehoko) if he commits.
Stanford will more than likely offer Powell if he is admitted. Otherwise, why be after him so late?
Robertson still says - and all reports are - Stanford leads for him. He's taking the SAT again on Jan. 23. Why would he do that if Stanford is no longer an option for him? The big thing to watch is if he visits in the next three weeks. Reading between the lines, it seems he will only visit Stanford if he is admitted. That's why he wants to expedite his SAT result. This way he could visit Stanford the weekend before signing day.
