And move Hooper to the Dline where we need him.Â

No! We need Chryst at fullback now that Marx has been moved to wideout. Oh, and I love our new holder, Jake Bailey; the kid can tackle!

Speaking of Sanders:
On his 65 yard TD, right after he switched the ball to the right hand, at about the 20 yard line, he seemed to kick into a higher gear- I didn't know he had it.

Perhaps, but as the announcer was saying something like, "Wow Bryce Love, his speed may go ...", through the fog of creeping sleepiness around 1:30 am, I was thinking - "Odd - that doesn't look like Love's speed."

Ted Robinson had so, so many errors that night.

Yeah, he was definitely not on his game the other night. A shame, because I kind of like him as an announcer.
The color man was even worse.

Like Chris Fowler,* he's better at tennis.
*(Fowler doesn't make errors in football but just seems...off somehow. Not assured. But he's great at tennis.)

McCaffrey did get more slot appearances and fewer carries against Arizona than against OSU, did he not?
As for Sanders, I never understood how anyone doubted his ability. He needs more snaps. Maybe a few more carries, but even having him on the field to run play action fakes can pay big dividends.
Neither Hooper or Schultz caught a single pass vs. Arizona. I'm not even sure they were targeted. The offense is going to become tougher to stop as the year goes on with all the offensive weapons being developed.Â

Yup, only one pass to a tight end (Chryst to Taboada). I haven't looked but my guess is that Arizona was bracketing our tight ends (I know at least one case the announcers mentioned it) and leaving our wide receivers 1 on 1. Perfect diversity isn't necessary; we just have to be able to take what the defense gives us; it's impossible for anyone to put 8 in the box, bracket the tight ends, and use a cover 2 to make sure nobody gets beaten deep (at least not without a too many men on the field penalty). You need exceptional defensive backs who can cover our receivers man-to-man, allowing you to put 8 in the box to slow the running game in order to slow us down. Northwestern had that (as did Michigan State in the Rose Bowl), but nobody has been able to do so in the last games.
McCaffrey had 17 carries for 156 yards in three quarters of play (I don't think he saw much action in the fourth quarter). That's on the low side for him this year (only against Northwestern did he have fewer carries). He had 2 catches for 11 yards; I don't know how many times he played in the slot, though. For obvious reasons, he attracts attention when he is in.
